Shotton Grange is an elegant Georgian Manor and Coaching House which is now one of the North East’s finest wedding and events venues. Nestled within 6 acres of country grounds and exquisite walled gardens, it’s located in Northumberland but is only a short drive from Newcastle. So no matter whether you’re from Alnwick or Amble, Blyth or Morpeth, you can find an exquisite wedding venue right at your doorstep.
Shotton Grange is an excellent choice for your perfect day. Situated in the Northumbrian countryside means your wedding can escape the hustle and bustle of city living, and only being a short distance from Newcastle means it’s easy to get to. Our wedding venue has everything you’ll need to make your wedding day one to remember, including a number of different function rooms, luxury accommodation and scenic grounds.
Our beautifully-restored Coach House is the perfect rustic setting for your wedding ceremony or reception, able to seat up to 110 guests. There are plenty of spots to relax too, including the cocktail bar and lounge, the Drawing Room and the cosy Snug. You can also enjoy our walled garden and grounds, which are perfect for a warm summer wedding.
Inside the manor house you’ll find a total of eight beautifully-adorned bedrooms, including the bridal suite which features its own dressing room. We also have an adjoining cottage that sleeps an additional 6 guests, meaning 22 guests can be catered for in total.
Shotton Grange is available for a number of different celebrations and private events alongside our wedding offerings. If you’re looking to celebrate your birthday or wedding anniversary in splendour then private hire is available, with the venue fully licensed for live entertainment. There are many reasons to celebrate, and for christenings, baby showers and naming days we think Shotton Grange is a great place to host these very special occasions.

February 2025We had our wedding here in feb 2025 and cannot recommend it highly enough! We booked in sept for the winter deal they had on so it was great value for money! The staff went above and beyond to ensure the day went perfectly! The food was excellent as was the setting, service and dj! Couldn’t have been happier!

February 2025I’m gutted that this review isn’t a very good one but this was my wedding venue and I unfortunately didn’t have the best experience.. me and my husband got married here June 2024 and I feel like I’m ready to address some things now.. firstly I was told if I wanted to go and decorate the room the morning of my wedding there’d be staff there to help assist.. when I arrived to do this there was nobody around, I had boxes of stuff to place out and nothing was ready and when I sent a family member to get a staff member the staff were too busy to be of any help and when they eventually did come they literally said “just place this there” and left.. when my bridesmaids arrived they weren’t accommodated at all they were stood in the stairway area with their dresses in their hands and had no where to go even though some of them had rooms they’d paid to stay in, there wasn’t any staff there to help them. On top of all this the staff at shotton grange ruined a moment I can never get back, I was waiting to walk down the isle.. my bridesmaids already started making their way down and I realised they had the wrong version of my chosen song on, they were playing a fast bootleg version of my walkout song even after I’d showed them the exact version I wanted over meetings which was a very slow song, this was gut wrenching in the moment because I was so exited for our song to be played and share that moment with my husband and they messed it up. I was seconds way from walking down the isle and I was having a full blown panic attack and felt so embarrassed by the music mess up so when I came to walking down to the isle it didn’t feel as special or anything like I’d imagined, it’s something I will never get back. I think weddings are expensive enough and to have this kind of experience after choosing somewhere you trust it should never happen to anyone.
