Shotton Grange is an elegant Georgian Manor and Coaching House which is now one of the North East’s finest wedding and events venues. Nestled within 6 acres of country grounds and exquisite walled gardens, it’s located in Northumberland but is only a short drive from Newcastle. So no matter whether you’re from Alnwick or Amble, Blyth or Morpeth, you can find an exquisite wedding venue right at your doorstep.
Shotton Grange is an excellent choice for your perfect day. Situated in the Northumbrian countryside means your wedding can escape the hustle and bustle of city living, and only being a short distance from Newcastle means it’s easy to get to. Our wedding venue has everything you’ll need to make your wedding day one to remember, including a number of different function rooms, luxury accommodation and scenic grounds.
Our beautifully-restored Coach House is the perfect rustic setting for your wedding ceremony or reception, able to seat up to 110 guests. There are plenty of spots to relax too, including the cocktail bar and lounge, the Drawing Room and the cosy Snug. You can also enjoy our walled garden and grounds, which are perfect for a warm summer wedding.
Inside the manor house you’ll find a total of eight beautifully-adorned bedrooms, including the bridal suite which features its own dressing room. We also have an adjoining cottage that sleeps an additional 6 guests, meaning 22 guests can be catered for in total.
Shotton Grange is available for a number of different celebrations and private events alongside our wedding offerings. If you’re looking to celebrate your birthday or wedding anniversary in splendour then private hire is available, with the venue fully licensed for live entertainment. There are many reasons to celebrate, and for christenings, baby showers and naming days we think Shotton Grange is a great place to host these very special occasions.
Shotton Grange is also available for private dining, including luncheon or afternoon tea in the drawing room and evening meals in the Coach House. And if you’re a business looking to host a corporate event with colleagues or clients, then you can get in touch to discuss your specific requirements.

Getting married at Shotton Grange was easily one of the best wedding planning decisions we made. From discovering this hidden gem when diving into the depths of Google Maps for North East wedding venues, we instantly knew this venue was the one for us. It had everything we hoped for and more - from the exclusivity of the venue, to its beautiful gardens and decor, all the natural light and even the duck breast main! The venue ticked every box, added extra boxes, and then ticked those. Emma, our Wedding Coordinator, was fantastic from start to finish. We had MANY questions and she was there for them all. Communication was out of this world throughout - 99% of all emails were responded to within 24 hours. Whenever Emma wasn’t available (which seemed very rarely the case!), another member of the team would swiftly pick up our emails. If you want to be fully in control of your day with everyone kept in the loop, Shotton Grange (or their sister venues), is the venue you need. Rachel, our Master of Ceremonies, and all the on-the-day team were amazing. The whole day ran so smoothly and we were able to just spend the day as Bride and Groom. The day flowed beautifully from one stage to the next, and everything was as we'd envisioned in the planning. From our private venue tour right up until the day after our wedding, Shotton Grange has been a delight. The initial, halfway and final meetings that took place were very helpful to us - we never felt rushed in the meetings or to make any decisions on the wedding, they helped us to generate ideas on what we wanted from the day, and on top of that, we were able to spend more time with our lovely venue in the lead up. The menu tasting night and supplier open days were also great, and we even visited the venue for our Valentine’s Day meal which was fantastic. We hope to visit again in the future, whether that be for one of their events, another wedding, or to host another event of our own.

Wonderful venue for wedding and very efficient serving the food. Beautiful surroundings and lots of outside space. Bar service was very slow unfortunately with insufficient staff but overall we had a great day.
