Contact is a striking events venue and creative hub, centrally located at the heart of the Corridor Manchester innovation district.
Following a transformational redevelopment, our diverse and flexible spaces are ideally suited to conferences, meetings and events. As a cutting edge arts organisation, we are also uniquely placed to deliver your event with creative flare.
Contact is a not-for-profit organisation. All of the proceeds from commercial operations help to support our work with young people, in local communities and on stage.
Contact’s ground-breaking design places it in the top 1% of sustainable public buildings in the North West. Our electricity is supplied by renewable energy sources and we operate a zero landfill policy.
Unlike traditional powered air-conditioning, our natural ventilation system ensures a constant supply of fresh, non-recycled air throughout the venue.
At Contact we strive to ensure that everybody has the best experience possible during their visit. With lift access to each floor, all of our event spaces are wheelchair-accessible. Space 1 and the Meeting Room also both benefit from a hearing loop.
We’re proud to have hosted events for Amnesty International, The University of Manchester, BBC, CBeebies, The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Coram Shakespeare Schools Festival and many more.
Space 1 is Contact's stunning main theatre auditorium.
Ideal for conferences, hybrid events, creative performances and panel discussions, Space 1 is equipped with state-of-the art technology, including integrated AV and bespoke lighting design.
From end-on to thrust, the stage layout can be reconfigured to suit your event.
Both stage and seating are wheelchair accessible, and the space is equipped with a hearing loop.
Hire of Space 1 includes dedicated professional support from our experienced Technical and Visitor Welcome teams.

I've seen a couple of shows at Contact and the theatre and staff are great. Just a couple of niggles that take it to a four rather than a five. First, temperature! It's too hot in there when the theatre is full, please whack the air con down a few degrees. Secondly, seat size, although I appreciate there is nothing to do to change that at this stage. The seats are slightly more spacious than at the older venues such as Palace or Opera House, but still a pain for those of us with a big butt and/or thighs. Leg room is not too bad but the taller folx are going to be a bit squashed - I'm 5'10 and found it a little tight.
