Holiday Inn Manchester West, Quay Suite One Or Two

Service and staff very friendly. Room was a bit shabby, peeling paint, cracks in the wall, stains on the carpet and bath was a bit worse for wear. We had to change rooms as the air conditioning kept us up till 1am with a loud humming, even when turned off. Eventually, we fell asleep..but the beds and pillows were so hard I woke up tired. Not a great start as I we'd travelled for 6 hours to attend a wedding the next day. Breakfast was ok, poor staff were run off their feet with front of house doubling up as waiting staff. Could do with a few more dairy-free alternatives. Location is close to most amenities and the free car park is handy.

Room was as expected apart from a clogged sink. I was sharing a room with a friend and we requested a twin room via third party. I understand that you may get a double room+sofa bed, and we did. There wasn’t any bedding for the sofa bed however and it took them over an hour to sort some sheets and a cover. We arrived late and just wanted to get our head down. Could have let all of that slide but the customer service was dreadful. No empathy - just abrupt and full of excuses. Not a good experience
