Just for context, I booked a £45 room, not a £200 room. Good sized room with a table & 2 chairs + a make up table / desk with chair. Yes the room was slightly shabby but everything was clean, everything worked and they had all the items you needed: kettle, tea, coffee etc. hair dryer. There was security on the door and the rest of the hotel was clean & staff welcoming. Excellent central location. Great value for money.

I found this hotel amazing at the price they offered. The location is great and near the station. Hotel rooms are clean and I believe recently refurbished so very clean and shiny. Earlier I tried to ignore to book this hotel but after living here I am surprised with the facilities, breakfast and room cleanliness.

If you fancy a night out in Manchester, it's a safe and clean place. However, no air conditioning exists, so I imagine it’s potentially less fab in summer. But we don’t do summer in the UK anyway. I got one of the rooms on the very top floor with round windows, and it was lovely and comfy with a great view. I loved the room. Clean and comfy bed. I attended horror conventions in the hotel in the 1990s and have always had happy memories of it. Breakfast was nice but basic, and the odd, strange person was arriving at the Buffet with a bottle of vodka. The hotel has some characters in it. The reception staff was friendly, but they were chatting on arrival. They managed to book me and the other person checking in at the same time into the same room, which was a nightmare as it was a bit of a journey to find the room and then come back down to the foyer again.

Stayed here about 10 years ago and it was truly awful. We had a smoking room and this was way after the smoking ban! However I’m pleased to say they seem to be having a bit of a light refresh and the smoking rooms are gone. Room was clean although basic. Looks like it had recently been repainted with some new furniture. New, but firm bed. The staff are doing their best given the circumstances and the company they work for/it’s notorious reputation for under investment. If you book an advance you can get some really good deals and given the hotel prices in Manchester now, it really outweighs the negatives. Overall would definitely recommend, although sometimes you just have to view it as being so bad it’s a bit camp 😂

Check-in was fast. They require photo ID at check-in. Rooms in need of a revamp as well as bathrooms that show some wear and tear. Well stocked tea and coffee in the room. Rooms were clean throughout, all linens clean. There is a hairdryer in the room. Unfortunately, the hot water tap didn't work. It only trickled, so I was unable to take a bath. Room walls are very thin, and you can hear everything from your neighbours. Unfortunately for me, I heard a couple arguing, 2 dogs barking and noisy children.
