Cigalon is a French restaurant based on Chancery Lane serving authentic Provençal cuisine. Nestled above Baranis, Cigalon is housed in the same magnificent building on Chancery Lane which was once Hodgson’s Auction House and more recently, Hodgson’s Wine Bar. The restaurant is based just off form The Strand and is within walking distance of Covent Garden, Theatre-land and The City of London. Cigalon takes its name after the eponymous hero – a chef – in Marcel Pagnol’s 1935 film of the same name.

To secure the booking we will need a down payment of half the minimum spend in the 10 working days of your enquiry otherwise it will be cancelled. For cancellations we ask for a minimum of 5 weeks prior to the booking, otherwise we require the initial down payment as forfeit.

February 2025This place is absolutely magical! I got to celebrate my birthday in this little slice of the South of France right in London. The restaurant feels like a cozy, sunlit conservatory, filled with plants and beautiful paintings. We started with a 0% alcohol French Blood, and it was so tasty and refreshing that after the first glass, we had to order a whole bottle! The food was something else. For starters, I had the cod—super fresh and packed with flavor in every bite. For the main course, we had a truffle risotto, but not just any risotto! The truffles are infused into the cheese during fermentation, giving it a unique and subtle flavor. We also had ratatouille, which went perfectly with the risotto, and Panisses (a must-try!)—crispy, delicious chickpea fries. For dessert, we had an Almond Meringue, which was light, crunchy, and full of flavor, and a Chocolate Moelleux—basically the real petit gâteau. It was rich, warm, and absolutely perfect with the ice cream. I could have eaten a whole cake of it! To top it all off, we got some little treats to celebrate, like Financier (a yummy amaretti biscuit with a hint of cherry) and mini chocolate mousse cones. This wasn’t just a meal—it was an amazing food experience! The flavors and textures were just right, and the service was fantastic. The staff and the chef made us feel so welcome, sharing recommendations and little details about the dishes. I’ll definitely be coming back! Team Cigalon, thank you for making this moment so special!

January 2025I had such a delightful experience at Cigalon today! From start to finish, everything was exceptional. We indulged in the 3-course menu and every dish was a delicious surprise. The truffle risotto was a standout for me, perfectly creamy with just the right hint of truffle. The desserts were mind blowing!!! My personal favorite was the brownie with plum and cream — what an amazing combination and I am absolutely in love with this one! The food itself was of the highest quality, with warm and inviting atmosphere. Overall, I absolutely loved the experience and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.
