Well I was on track to set off for San Sebastián for a foodie week and decided to stay here before heading off to City airport. On arriving I noticed the building was like an old police station and I was right the restaurant was the old shooting gallery and opposite I spotted an old school. What a splendid find in London having lived there and visited there hundreds of times. Still always makes a surprise.

Gorgeous hotel. Was expecting nice but it is stunning. Not a fan of closest public transport however. Felt unsafe after dark walking back. Handy for the dlr and wee supermarkets. Seriously stunning inside, bar is gorgeous. Lovely breakfast. Room is clean, modern and spacious. Shower room is big, bright and clean. Good range of toiletries, lovely fluffy towels.

Had a one night stay here and it wasn't too bad, couldn't say I would want to stay in the room we had for more than one night though. The bed in our room was very firm, too firm for my liking but I understand it's preference. The room had quite a few problems though too: the windows were extremely hard to open, there were loose, cracked tiles on the bathroom floor and there was the head of a screw sticking out of the wall tile to act as a door stop for the shower door. Also, the bathroom had a frosted glass door separating the bathroom and bedroom. Even with the frosted glass, you could basically see everything the other person was doing in the bathroom. So when you want some privacy, you have none. These are just what I can remember. I think for the price of the room, even in London, it should be bigger with a better view. I do think this particular room is overpriced. The staff as always were excellent. Very polite and helpful. Checking in was easy enough, same as checking out. Breakfast the following morning was absolutely wonderful. One of my favourite breakfasts. Great selection and very delicious. The onsite parking is great too with a secure gate. £20 to park overnight is not too unreasonable in London. The location of the hotel suited our needs as we were visiting both the shard and Buckingham palace and neither was far away. It's tucked away off the main roads so you don't hear any road noise or loud cars. I would recommend staying here even with our problems with the room, especially if there were things you wanted to do nearby.

Rude staff. There was one staff, tall, bald, african american guy. Just absolutely rude and unfriendly. I never leave a review but his attitude just ticked me off. The room was clean and bed was made nicely every time when I was out. I regret not getting the rude staff’s name.

Terrible Stay on this occasion. Room was small and boxy with low ceilings and a very noisy plant room next door that kept us awake most of the night. Food is average. Coffee machine in hotel was broken and the kettle in the room was rotten. Get the impression from the other guests and reviews that the hotel does have good rooms but the check in staff seem to prefer to give guests the worst rooms first. It's not a 4 star hotel. Premier inn where we normally stay is 3 star so much cheaper and the standards are far better.
