    I was overwhelmed by the service and friendliness of the staff. This was in stark contrast to my Paris experience that actually cost more. The rooms were great. I do agree that the little glass they have to turn the tub into a shower is a bit inadequate. I felt like royalty there.

    Currently having a wonderful experience! We arrived about 10:30 after very long overnight flight. I had paid for an early check in at 1pm. We checked our bags with the hotel, enjoyed a drink at the bar and then walked around the city. At 1 PM I received a phone call saying our room ready. The staff was very attentive and helpful in making sure this request was fulfilled on time. The accommodations are lovely and we enjoy the bar for a well crafted nightcap. The location is central and convenient, only a few minutes to the Green Park Station

    We had really high expectations staying here as it’s part of the LHW group. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend it at all. The rooms are very very small and not comfortable (for the price I expected definitely much more). The breakfast is terrible. The buffet for continental breakfast is tiny. Don’t bother ordering eggs or omelette they are mediocre. Only good points: - The staff is nice mainly in the door and at breakfast - Great location (this is what you probably pay for)

    As a professional travel writer, I visit 5-star hotels in London every year to do a write-up and create recommendations for travel clients. I'd booked a 5-night stay at Althoff London St James Hotel and Club for December. I always assess hotels I will be reviewing partly on their communication and professionalism prior to the visit. Sadly, there was none from the staff here. I emailed the concierge, dining team, and reception and heard nothing back from any of them. I then chased with reception and received a response stating that she needed to check some things and would get back to me. That was several days ago and I've heard nothing back since despite chasing for a response. This lack of communication raised red flags with regard to what the service was likely to consist of during my stay. As a result, I cancelled my stay and booked with another 5-star hotel, where I received responses or at least acknowledgements of my questions within an hour (what 5-star service is supposed to be like). So, although I cannot comment on the service at the hotel, the customer service prior to staying did not instil confidence, hence deciding to cancel. They seem to spend a lot of time touting for business on social media to get bookings but no time at all responding to people who have gone ahead and made bookings.
