**Restaurant Review: Novikov, Mayfair** I recently celebrated my birthday at Novikov in Mayfair with my sister, and while the experience had its highs, there were definitely some aspects that didn't quite live up to expectations. Let's start with the positives—service. The staff at Novikov were absolutely exceptional. From the moment we arrived, they were attentive, polite, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The service alone truly elevated the experience and made us feel welcomed and cared for. However, when it comes to the food, I was a bit underwhelmed. I found that several dishes lacked flavor and really needed a little extra seasoning—salt in particular. It was disappointing, especially considering the reputation the restaurant holds. While the presentation was lovely, the food didn’t quite hit the mark for me. In terms of value, Novikov definitely feels overpriced, likely due to its prime Mayfair location. I understand the appeal of dining in such a sought-after area, but for the price, I expected more from both the food and the overall atmosphere. Speaking of atmosphere, I felt that the ambiance could have been a bit livelier—while the space itself is chic and upscale, the vibe felt a bit too subdued for a celebratory occasion. Overall, while the service was remarkable, I don’t think the food or overall experience justified the steep price tag. It was a fine dining experience, but not one I’d rush to repeat.
