The Strathmore is an imposing 4-Star hotel, located close to London's most famous museums in South Kensington. A fully restored Victorian mansion, the hotel building was formerly the London residence of the Earl of Strathmore - the late Queen Mother's father.

The hotel has 77 classic en-suite guest bedrooms, which feature carved wood furniture, LCD flat-screen televisions and Wi-Fi and broadband access.

Breakfast and dinner are served daily at the in-house restaurant, while light meals and traditional afternoon tea can be ordered in the inviting lounge bar.

Flexible meeting and events rooms are available for private hire, plus PCs, colour printing and fax services for the convenience of business travellers.

Famous local attractions include Kensington Palace and Gardens, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Royal Albert Hall. Knightsbridge's famous shopping street and Harrods's are a short walk away. A detailed location map can be found on our Travel Information page.

The Library suite is a flexible event space on the Ground Floor that can hold up to 70 people. It is an ideal venue for mid-sized boardroom meetings and training days in Kensington, and is also a popular private dining space for small groups of 20 or less.

The Library suite is perfect for:

A very handy location in the South Kensington area, and for elsewhere, you are a short walk to Gloucester Road tube station. Small shops and eating places in the loyalty

Fantastic hotel, superb location in Kensington for explorers. Nice room, we went for a twin. Great selection of tea/coffee facilities. Good TV with plenty of channels to view. No apps like Netflix or Amazon Prime to use enough. Few niggles like no extra pillows in the room but suspect you could request. No toilet brush. The bed was firm but a bit too firm for us but know beds are a very personal thing. Had a nice continental breakfast with boxed cereal, yogurts and a lovely selection of meats, cheese and pastries. Note: you can pay more for an English style breakfast but we went for the continental option. All in all a great stay for our exploration of London. Very friendly staff and great check in/check out. Hotel has meeting rooms, dining room where breakfast was served and a cosy bar area.

Decent hotel for the price. Good location for a few restaurants, shops and underground. Bed wasn’t comfy, scones are bad. Not a real 4 star hotel, staff don’t really care about service. But it’s worth what you pay for here

Great location, very nice room. The bed was a bit hard but only 1 night it was ok. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice.
