About Venue
Built in 1914, Curzon Richmond is steeped in film history. Located in a cobblestone street on the banks of the river Thames, the cinema has an elegant character and luxurious atmosphere.
Curzon Richmond is a distinctive space with comfortable seats in an auditorium designed like a theatre – draped and pillared.
The atmosphere is warm yet exclusive, and the cinema is seconds away from the riverside and close to transport links to central London.

Staff are nice, but the cinema has been dilapidating for a while and is now really in need of a proper modernisation. Seats are not the best and I wouldn’t choose this venue for anything running over the 2-hour mark. There is restricted foot room and no armrests, and some of the seat coverings are torn and worn. Nowhere to conveniently rest drinks, and it’s generally quite difficult to get properly comfortable, especially when the screen is busy. The sound also compares unfavourably to Curzon Kingston and Ealing Picturehouse. I’ve been a Curzon member for years, but am considering a switch to Picturehouse, as I find myself coming here less and less, because the auditorium doesn’t offer the same immersive experience that I can get in competing venues. The recent price increase for all tickets makes Curzon more expensive as well.

Very tired cinema with a small screen and pretty awful sound. Some of the seats were very grotty, the rake isn't good. I find it odd that Richmond doesn't have a good cinema, if you look at the Olympic in Barnes or the Chiswick Cinema they are so much better than this in every way. Needs a makeover and an upgrade of the screen/sound. Obviously it's a lot better than the appalling Odeon though! On a positive note the wine was nice as was the cake. A bit disappointing there is only bagged popcorn, I can bring that myself at a fraction of the cost!

To be honest I’m surprised by all the positive reviews. This is a very tired cinema that really needs modernising. The seats are cramped and the sound is pretty unacceptable in 2025.
