November 2024Fabulous experience - beautiful selection of historical paintings with a special focus on Turner. I appreciated the chronological sequence that leads up to modern times and contemporary art. Additionally, it’s possible to join thematic guided mini-tours. I enjoyed this visit and am looking forward to revisiting Tate in near future. Access is free with voluntary donations possible via cash or card.

November 2024Went to see the 1980's Britain photographic exhibition. It is an excellent installation depicting the stark and shifting socio-political and cultural events that form the bedrock of today's Britain and its attitudes. As a Londoner born and bred, I am saddened to reflect that little has changed apart from the technology which is as much a blessing as it is a curse. The gallery really needs at least a full day to appreciate the exhibits.

December 2024One of the best galleries in London and slightly lesser known, but easy to get to and not crowded. Top-rate curating too for 21st century Britain and good clear commentary by the paintings, including mentioning the labour to produce what you see in the paintings - sugar for the tea in the drawing room for example - was grown by enslaved or forced workers. Well worth a visit and enjoy the paintings.

January 2025Tate Britain is such a brilliant spot for art! The way they showcase British art through history is amazing. seeing works by Turner and then moving on to more modern pieces was such a treat. The galleries are super chill, spacious, and perfect for getting lost in the art. The special exhibitions were a highlight, so thoughtfully put together, and they really made me think. The staff were lovely, and the café was a great little break after wandering around. Honestly, whether you’re a tourist or live in London, you’ve got to check it out!
