Occupying an awe-inspiring building that dates from 1905, when it served as the Tower Bridge Magistrates Court, The Dixon is a new hotel that captures all the culture, creativity and variety of SE1, the world’s most cultural postcode.
Named after John Dixon Butler, the Grade II-listed building’s original Edwardian architect, The Dixon is steeped in history but inspired by the contemporary character and culture of its vibrant neighbourhood. Its 193 rooms and suites, lounges and restaurant enjoy an edgy, eclectic design aesthetic and a boutique vibe.
Enter via the very staircase that led prisoners from the cells to the courtroom. Filled with natural light from the original Edwardian bay windows, this is the perfect room for everything from meetings, training days and away days to exclusive dining.

February 2025We had a wonderful stay. I cannot express how lovely and accommodating the staff are. A special mention to Ruan and Grace for making our stay feel welcoming and cozy. The rooms are lovely with a comfortable bed and great showers. The gym, bar and cafe are all great facilities, thank you to the staff for having clean and welcome spaces. The location of the hotel is great, with plenty of restaurants and pubs nearby. A great stay with great staff.

February 2025The experience was great from start to finish. The minute you walk in you notice the lobby, the history, and the nice scent they use throughout the building. My room was already set to find a nice anniversary proseccco and dessert which was fitting. Overall, pleasant stay, and the king bed was cozy. It was relatively quiet, and one thing to note is that the thermostat is controlled by the front staff, so we were a bit cold from time to time in February and could not make it much warmer.

March 2025We loved our stay here. Staff were super nice! Walking distance to London Bridge, lots of great restaurants, shops and a walking distance to the Borough Market and the train station. Very clean, lovely artworks, great view from the room. Also love the fact that it’s in the less touristy area. There’s also breakfast that can be included in your room, nice cocktails at their bar.

February 2025We didn't stay at the hotel but had the afternoon tea one Saturday afternoon. We were looked after by Lina who was wonderful, it was a calm and peaceful setting. The food was delicious, quite unusual to start with followed by what you'd expect. The cakes were exquisite. We were there shown some of the more unusual quirks of the building including a jail cell in the restaurant by a lovely member of staff. Would highly recommend the afternoon tea experience.

March 2025Very nice hotel located right by Tower Bridge. The rooms were of an excellent standard for 4* and the bathroom felt brand new - extremely clean and very nice shower. My sister used the gym, though small - had all the equipment she needed. For a compact gym, I would have loved it had they had a Peloton bike! My sister received a very hospitable welcome at the door and upon check in. They went above and beyond, ensuring she was seen to her room. Impeccable service. However, when I arrived, the receptionist wasn't very friendly, had an unwelcoming energy. Didn't feel like a valued Marriot member! Breakfast was good. Would have liked some more options like Smoked Salmon but otherwise it had a good selection. I liked the self serve pancake station. All in all I'd stay here again! Location was very convenient to get to different parts of London. Just hope to be checked in by a friendlier member of staff with the treatment my sister received!
