Christmas At Copthorne Tara Hotel, Shannon Suite A&b

Stayed for 2 nights in the superior double. I was initially excited as the advert clearly says beautiful city views. However to our disappointment this was not the case. We stayed in room 0846 and we overlooked the back of the neighbouring Holiday inn hotel. Large big old red building, nothing city views about it. That aside, the room itself although dated was very spacious and the bed was very comfy. We did hear the neighbours chatting away next door though, so sound proofing should be considered. Also the lack of bar facilities was a bit disappointing, as the main bar closed as 10pm. The only option after that is the self serve which charges a ridiculous £5.75 for a tiny bottle of lager. The breakfast wasn’t bad for the price, nothing fancy but fresh and hot. We were charged for 2 mornings breakfast when we only ordered one. Had some issues with the refund process and still waiting to receive it. Would we stay again? Maybe, but I would consider other options first. Best part was the location, that couldn’t be faulted at all, bars and restaurants a few minutes walk along with the tube station.

Lovely location and great staff. Bed very comfy indeed. Rooms very ran down indeed, and in desperate need of renovation. Pictures shown on website do not reflect condition of rooms in any way. Huge gap in hotel room door which floods light into room at night, can hear everything in corridors as well as from neighbouring rooms.
