Mayfair’s family-owned Athenaeum Hotel prides itself on five-star luxury delivered with a personal warmth. The hotel’s boutique feel belies the number of bedrooms, and its established brand of elegant homeliness runs through to three subtly decorated meeting rooms, all providing abundant natural light. The largest of these, Hyde Park, works well for dinners and drinks receptions, and can be split into three distinct areas for small gatherings. The two smaller spaces will this year gain an art deco gloss as part of a relaunch. In other breaking news, the Galvin brothers are opening a restaurant on the ground floor in late May and will take over events catering too.

March 2025We would like to thank the Athenaeum Hotel staff for the exceptional service provided on our 2-night visit for my Birthday. The rooms were elegantly designed with very a comfortable bed and enjoyable refreshments. The location of the Hotel is in the heart of Mayfair, with great views of Green Park and a stone throw away from Buckingham Palace. We spent an hour each morning enjoying the spa facilities, which were spotless, followed by a pleasant breakfast. I would like to thank Yogesh Ram for his outstanding service and for showing us an incredible view on the 10th floor overlooking the great city of London. We would highly recommend this hotel for any future trips and we hope to visit again very soon.

March 2025I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences, and it truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the attentive staff made me feel incredibly welcome—nothing was too much trouble, and their genuine warmth and professionalism stood out. The rooms were beautifully designed, with a lovely cream color palette that added to the sense of elegance and relaxation. They were not only stylish but also spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful stay. The hotel's location is unbeatable, situated in the heart of London, making it the perfect base for exploring the city. Whether you're visiting for business or leisure, everything is within easy reach. I particularly enjoyed the bar, which had a wonderfully relaxed setting—ideal for unwinding with a drink after a busy day. The atmosphere was inviting, and the selection of drinks was excellent. Overall, The Athenaeum offers a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and outstanding service. If you're looking for a refined yet welcoming place to stay in London, I highly recommend it. I will certainly be returning!

March 2025Beautiful hotel facing Green Park and adjacent to Mayfair. From the entrance to the bar/lounge and then the staff to the canapes...it smells luxurious and has the opulent feel to it. Very modern decor with clean fine space. I visited a showcase a couple of weeks ago and was blown away. It's a 5 minute walk from the green park station and sits next door to Grand Sheraton I think it's called. The rooms are either in a teal (those facing Green park) or autumn colour (those facing Mayfair) Large bathrooms and shower rooms, they have an upper floor lounge room for guests to just relax. Also enclosed are the gym, spa treatment rooms, sauna, jacuzzi and the likes. They have an outdoor seating area for meals and their restaurant serves some of the best afternoon teas in London. Pricing is relatively and can range from btw £200-1500 per night depending on which room is booked. I strongly recommend and would love to visit again and again. Oh not to forget the canapes and cocktails, they just kept flowing 😋 I have shared pictures of some of the spectacular spaces, meeting rooms and bedrooms ❤️ definitely high-end

January 2025Very disappointing experience at this hotel. We booked a Deluxe Room for one night. The website promises a free upgrade if availability permits (which I checked through the website on the day and it did). However, we were actually DOWNGRADED from the room we paid for, to a Superior Townhouse room. We had several issues with this room. The TV was not working, which we reported before we went out for afternoon and were assured it would be looked at. When we returned, the TV was still broken. Furthermore, our bathroom door had been locked, raising security concerns as somebody had clearly been in the room. Finally, in the evening the power in the room was intermittently cutting out. We reported this and the TV again, and thankfully were promptly moved, to an adjacent and identical room (another Superior Townhouse room, still not the Deluxe Room we paid for). This room at least had no issues, other than the fact that the rooms are on the ground floor facing the street, so that a large tour group passing in the morning were able to easily stare into the room. Breakfast staff were also inattentive and making mistakes with our order, with no apology given. We had visited the spa several times before which is what prompted us to stay at the hotel, but now have no desire to return. I will say that the doorman was very polite, professional and the only thing which lived up to standard.
