Our stay at Holiday Inn - Camden Lock was pure bliss from start to finish! Every aspect of our visit exceeded expectations, from the beautifully maintained and comfortable room to the impeccable service we received throughout our stay. However, what truly stood out—and what deserves the highest praise—was the incredible staff. Every single team member we encountered was exceptionally friendly, warm, and helpful, going out of their way to ensure we had the best experience possible. Their genuine smiles and proactive approach to customer service made us feel welcome and valued at every turn. Whether it was providing local recommendations, quickly attending to our needs, or simply greeting us with kindness, the staff consistently went above and beyond. It’s rare to find such a consistently high standard of hospitality, but the team here has mastered it effortlessly. Their dedication and passion for creating a positive experience were evident in everything they did, and it truly enhanced the overall quality of our stay. Thank you, Holiday Inn - Camden Lock, for setting the bar so high and for making our visit one we’ll remember fondly. We can’t wait to return and enjoy this wonderful experience all over again!

The hotel was very friendly, welcoming and helpful from start to finish on our stay. We ate in the lounge bar twice and I must say that the quality of the food surpassed our expectations and the service was exceptional especially Prerna, who was most attentive. The room was as we expected and the view was better than we expected. My only slight criticism was that the hot water took a long time (a couple of minutes ) to come through warm at the sink, but was fine when it did and I had forgotten about it until I wrote this review. Camden itself was another story…

Camden’s a unique place to stay in London. Very cool vibe. Hotel is well located near the tube and the canal / locks area (lots of bars and restaurants). Special recognition to Prerna (who served us at breakfast). A lovely lady who could not do enough for us. Excellent service in a world where “average” is usually a stretch. Particularly liked the individually decorated post-it notes with nice / motivational quotes to kick my busy day off in a positive frame of mind!

The staff in the hotel were all fantastic! Helpful, polite, friendly whilst remaining professional at all times. We shared our two birthdays during our stay and the restaurant staff, particularly Prerna, made us feel very special! Location is great if you want to explore Camden with its many lively bars and restaurants. The bad bits.. our room was above the side street and bins seemed to be collected in the early hours twice! The hot water takes a while to kick in and the heating is loud! Best bits…location and excellent staff!!

This hotel is classified as a 4-star hotel. However, this is a good 2-star or an acceptable 3-star hotel at best. The lobby was fine (even if we were questioned if we were guests multiple times when using it) and the bed was comfortable… but we did have several issues. Firstly, the only window in our room opened onto a trash alley where garbage trucks routinely emptied dumpsters loudly starting at 6am daily. The smoking area was also in this alley, conveniently right below our window. In the room, the shower hot water was extremely inconsistent- even when we did have hot water, it was clearly cycling between tepid and warm. They also hid the second towel in the closet which we didn’t figure out until stopping by the front desk to ask where it was (and didn’t apologize, but rather acted like this was obvious). Finally, be aware that there was no mini fridge in our room despite it being a listed amenity. There was space for one…but nothing in that space which actually felt worse than no space at all 😅. 2-star experience. We also were told that we couldn’t quietly consume outside food at any of the many tables in the lobby and were requested to eat it in our room, which I guess is fair? But it didn’t make for a good experience. No one was mean but no one was friendly either- we felt like we were being questioned the whole time. Super odd and a-ok for a 2-star, but not a 4-star hotel. The cleaning lady was super sweet though- many kudos to her. All in all, this is not a 4-star experience :/
