Beautiful, relaxed and effortlessly executed, with a hearty country vibe in a cool urban setting only 10 minutes by train from Victoria. Your guests won't even notice how well they are being looked after until they are stuffed & drunk, warm & fuzzy, wondering where the time flew. Wife & husband ( ;) ) team out front of this high end gastropub, with co-owner and passionate Head Chef at the oven they pride themselves on unstuffy service, great food and warm smiles. And you're in safe hands, they're from good stock: Richard Branson's Roof Gardens, Petrus, Gavroche, Hotel du Vin & Sam's Brasserie.

September 2024Incredible food by Carter’s. Definitely not your average pub food, everything was delicious, we had 6 perfect roasts. Everyone was raving about their meals. Succulent and tender roast beef, perfect crispy tatties and an abundance of gravy (each in our own little jug!) 🙏 And the baked alaska with pistachio ice cream was fab. We will be back. Best pub food in London!

August 2024We were looking for somewhere that could accommodate us for an early dinner after our official wedding ceremony which was not an easy task but the whole team at The Crooked Well were amazing and flexible right from booking and throughout the day. The food and wine were all amazing and our whole party are still talking about the chocolate mousse. The team on the day were so kind when we needed to change locations and really attentive and accommodating. Couldn’t have asked for a better dinner.

September 2024Came for Sunday lunch with a group of friends. The chicken and tarragon pie was genuinely one of the best pies I’ve ever had - so delicious and great portion size. The roast potatoes were spot on, crunchy outside, moist inside. The lunch was fantastic, impeccable food and delicious drinks. Would really recommend visiting for Carter’s Sunday lunch - 5 stars 🤝
