Located in Walker House, a lovely stone-clad building within the famous Exchange Flags area of Liverpool, El Gato Negro Tapas is a great venue. From our restaurant and bar, you can enjoy stunning views of the iconic Nelson monument and Liverpool Town Hall. Inside, our restaurant has an elegant open-plan design and offers a variety of dining and drinking choices. The interior is beautifully decorated with a floral theme and a touch of Spanish summer nights, featuring a gorgeous botanical tree and warm glass orb lighting at the center. If you prefer dining outdoors, we have a fully covered and heated patio area where you can enjoy tapas al fresco.
Our bar space can be hired to cater for a wide range of occasions, whether its pre dinner drinks with family and friends or a new corporate showcase that boasts a spacious layout with natural lighting. Perfect for those informal meet ups with work colleagues or drinks night outs pairing cocktails, premium wines and tasty tapas nibbles. Our bar booths can also be booked online for our full restaurant service, which can be perfect for those special birthdays and catch ups with friends for a more private and cozy feel to your tapas dining experience here at El Gato Negro. These details are securely kept with a third party called Stripe and will only be charged if the cancellation terms are not met. We ask for 24 hours notice of a cancellation or reduction in numbers, and reservations that fail to give this notice will automatically incur a £15pp fee Please do not arrive with more people in your party than you have booked for; we cannot guarantee availability All tables are allocated a 2 hour dining time Please contact us if you are running late; we can hold a table for 15 minutes but will have to release it if we haven’t heard from you

September 2024Delicious tapas. This was our 2nd visit to this restaurant and we had travelled from Birmingham to Liverpool specifically to come for this food. Really great food, highly recommend!

August 2024We did the Tipsy Tapas, food was delicious. The Bottomless Sangria was good, not very strong but they gave it to us in jugs and you could have Prosecco for the table. I would definitely recommend the cod fishcakes, mini chorizo and patatas bravas. But it all was truly amazing. Great when there’s a few of you to share. Just like tapas it came out when it was ready. Excellent service and beautiful decor.

August 2024Fabulous tapas, freshly prepared and great service. The shrieking hen party behind prevented me from giving 5 stars for the atmosphere but it's to be expected on a busy, sunny and warm Saturday. Certainly not El Gatos fault and would definitely go again.

September 2024Come to El Gato for tipsy tapas, was a really nice experience. Before our bottomless brunch slot began we decided to have an Espresso Martini out of everything we ordered this is the one thing I really don't recommend the drink was extremely watered down. This was our o my negative we were really looked after by the wait staff and food was really enjoyable
