The staff are all friendly and helpful. Really lovely, all of them. The room was spotlessly clean. The cleaners were helpful and friendly when i asked for more milk caplets. I had a lakeside room with patio doors opening onto the lake area - the other side of the establishment faces the car park and busy A2. I didn't realise it was on the motorway and you can hear the traffic but not inside the room. The lakes and scenery are beautiful and relaxing. Ducks and dogs were lovely to see. Afternoon tea was fresh and really lovely in my room. Bar food was average and overcooked. Outside dining was lovely by the lake. The inside of the building reminded me of an old people's home as the rooms are all brown/beige and very very dated. Very spacious though! The rooms are not soundproof but luckily my neighbouring guests were quiet. My stay for 2 nights was very restful and the bed was really comfortable. TV was great and big enough. I came for the nature and lakes to unwind outside and would go back for this reason and for the staff. Thank you to Laura and her team for their kind hospitality 💗

Fantastic location plenty of parking and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Rooms are a good size, if a bit tired. There are some nods to accessability - wheelchair lift to the breakfast area, disabled toilet in the bar and a lift between floors however something needs to be done to improve access to the outside areas - there is quite a big level change /step down currently and access from the room to the outside patio area was approximately a foot high step up. Dogs are welcome, on a leash, and dog poo bins are provided

Went to advent here grease vs dirty dancing was a good night really injoyed it had a three course meal food was nice and hot and tasty. We stayed at the hotel had a room with a lovely view. Our room was nice and spacious. Bed was comfy. If you have a bath just be careful as it is very Slippery and there is no hand rails to pull your self up. If you are a plus size I'd advise you to take a towel as the towels are small. Had breakfast there was not impressed with it one bit.Was nice to see that the hotel is dog friendly. If you don't drive the hotel is a bit far out from the train station but you can get a taxi there.

The Inn On The Lake is probably the cheapest hotel I've ever been to. The second me and my mum drove up to the hotel, the sign was worn and faded and the exterior was giving 1970s vibes. When we got in reception, I immediately felt that I was thrown back 50 years into some cheap Vegas motel that I've yet to experience (but I don't think I'll need to now). Our room was extremely dated, and the cleaning was very disappointing. There were ant traps under my mum's bed and the carpet wasn't plastered on properly so there was a massive lump in the middle of the room. The bathroom looked very dated and the soap was very basic. Now, when we first got there, we did not see any lake whatsoever as we soon discovered it was behind the hotel not in front. We were also unaware that the hotel rooms were facing directly towards the loud A2 traffic, but the double glazing windows were a lifesaver. The lake was small, and quite underwhelming, and apart from a Wake going on, it looked alright. The breakfast was slightly disappointing, the bacon was really chewy and overcooked, and the options for breakfast was very limited. It was a nice experience overall, definitely value for money.

This is a tough one. Fantastic but horrible location! Beautiful lakes on one side, noisy motorway on the other. Service was OK, nothing brilliant but what massively lets this hotel down is its condition. Faded signs, 70s decor, even an aged ceiling fan in the room. Needs some decent investment and could be great. Why haven't they? Odd place. Food was reasonable too. Just needs updating and tidying up, yesterday.
