Goodnestone Park is an exquisite, Palladian gem surrounded by elegant parkland. Home of the 22nd Lord and Lady FitzWalter, and built in 1704, this beautiful stately home and grounds is the perfect venue for a truly magical wedding, special occasion or corporate event.
The wedding party can walk in the footsteps of Jane Austen, who was a regular visitor to the house. Little wonder the tranquillity and beauty of the house and garden were the inspiration for her masterpiece, Pride and Prejudice.
So, whether you want a large wedding or event or something more intimate, Goodnestone Park can oblige, and you can be assured that your every need is catered for.
Goodnestone Park is located in the heart of Kent, the Garden of England, just 9 miles from Canterbury, 25 miles from Ashford, and 18 miles from the Eurotunnel.
The ground floor of the house (Dining Room/Round Room/Breakfast Room/Drawing Room & Library) is available for hosting smaller weddings of up to 24 guests for which The Round Room is licenced for civil marriages. Ceremonies can also be held in the stunning, 12th century local village Church of the Holy Cross (this is organised in addition to the package) just a few minutes stroll from the house through the picturesque walled gardens and there are three locations for a civil ceremony or blessing within the grounds.
The Italian Inspired Orangery marquee hosts up to 140 for a sit down meal, tables and chairs are included as is a state of the art sound system, uplighters, festoon lighting and a lounge area.
Goodnestone Park is steeped in history, pretty as a picture, in a secluded private spot - what more could you ask for on your special day?

A lovely visit to Goodnestone Park Gardens today. As always the gardens have been well maintained during closure due to the pandemic. The walled garden was a little disappointing as there were few flowers in bloom but obviously everything has been very late this year.l was glad to see they still sold plants & l did succumb to buying one for my own garden! We enjoyed a drink & cake outside on the terrace. The staff are pleasant & efficient .We did feel though that the cake was a little overpriced at £4.50.However it was a most enjoyable day out & l would highly recommend a visit.

What a find. Can't believe I've never been there. The very place to go if you want a garden to spend a lazy afternoon wandering around followed by an afternoon tea. A mix of formal, walled gardens and small woodland. Some of the areas were a little bit wild and unkempt but for me that was its charm. It almost had a 'Secret Garden' vibe. As the place is so old it was amazing to see really mature shrubs and trees at sizes you wouldn't normally see them. Many of the trees are truly magnificent. Bees and butterflies buzzing everywhere, newts and tadpoles in the lily pond it's obvious to see they have a love of encouraging wildlife. It's also not so big that it takes forever to walk round. My only criticism and it was a niggle more than anything was that many of the trees and plants weren't labelled and that would have been the icing on the cake as not all of us have vast horticultural knowledge.

We shared the most memorable wedding at this beautiful house. So much history and happiness in one place. Perfect venue!

A lovely place to visit! There's lots of wild flowers and trees to appreciate. Not huge but a really pleasant place to walk about and benches when you fancy a sit. Staff are lovely and the food in the cafe was delicious. Would recommend

A lovely atmosphere at the cafe where we had lunch outside which event was enriched when two dear friends turned up out of the blue and joined us. Good food and service too. Not cheap but worth the cost.
