I had the pleasure of photographing an early October wedding here, and it was absolutely lovely. The staff and food were fantastic, but what was really marvellous was the texture and architecture of the building. The building is historic but still has such lovely large windows that really channels in some beautiful light. It's a dream to photograph in. The Virginia Creeper Ivy on the side of the building is really an added bonus and turns the most stunning shade of red in the autumn. I'd really recommend it as a wedding venue if you're looking for a historic building that can do it all plus offer a lot of accommodation to your guests.

Beautiful building and gardens. We had the classic afternoon tea, the ambience was cosy and relaxing. They had the fireplace lit and a piano player and the actual afternoon tea was delicious. Scones came out fresh and warm, good selection of finger sandwiches and the sweet treats were divine. The staff were very nice and attentive but also gave us room to sit and enjoy the experience. Highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing building and grounds! Room was clean and tidy although a little smaller than the pics but was still very nice. Comfy beds and pillows and breakfast although the menu is small for cooked, was very nice and good selection of food.

Beautiful building, staff and room were brilliant. Special thanks to Cassie for helping me out .it was very busy as it was valentines weekend, the staff did the best they could. There was difficulty getting a seat around the pool at the spa and jacuzzi was cold, but was very clean and pleasant experience. My treatment was brilliant, thanks Tatiana. It took some planning to check in at 3pm have a treatment at 4, wife treatment at 5, enjoy spa and have dinner in 4 hour window but we did it. Maybe it would be possible to open the spa at 4 for people checking in at 3 to reduce the 5pm rush? Lady at breakfast was showing guests to table, explaining the menu and taking some orders by herself as well as some guests refusing to serve themselves a coffee from the buffet giving her additional jobs. She managed it but could have done with some more help. The two ladies were running around but doing their best. The team in the bar did a great job getting our drinks and taking orders, polite and efficient. Evening dinner was delicious!

I was disappointed with our visit. I expected luxury based on the reputation of champneys and it wasn’t luxury the hotel was tired, the carpets were threadbare, there was no handwash, replaced with shampoo, the walls needed painting, the tap in the toilet main reception fell off when I went to use it and no handwash in the reception toilet. We changed rooms due to the bed being so thin and able to feel the springs ( reception were very friendly ) the communal lounge in the mews was dirty with paint all over the back of a sofa. We booked limited spa access but treatments were not available during our spa access ( was not aware of this ) the cafe was closed and the water had run out so we couldn’t get a drink in the spa. The shop was also closed. 2 out of 3 hydrojets were not working and we cut ourself on broken tiles in the smaller pool. The spa was basic in terms of a pool / sauna and steam room or cold outside pool. We were unable to get a chair or bed as people reserved them and left. We went to the relaxation room which had empty coffee cups on the floor and table. The lift was out of order. The food was delicious and the restaurant staff were amazing. I wouldn’t return, whilst the grounds were amazing, I felt that it was a 3 star hotel with a pool area not the luxury I was expecting and very disappointed.
