Ballarat House has a big living space with a large wooden table and spacious seating area with comfy sofas, perfect for brainstorming and cooperative planning sessions. It can comfortably seat 10 people on benches with chairs, and also has space for 10 people to sleep in 5 bedrooms.



The whole house is quirkily decorated in bright colours, making it a fantastic location for photography shoots and filming.

It is centrally located to make the most of Margate’s unique attractions - fantastic top restaurants like Bottega Caruso, internationally renowned galleries such as the Turner Contemporary - host of the Turner Prize in 2019, and loads of vintage shops to peruse in your down time. The coast is two minutes walk from the property, with miles of sandy beaches and a beautiful coastal path in each direction. Walk 5 - 10 minutes to discover live music at The Albion Rooms run by cult band The Libertines, wild swimming and paddle boarding at Walpole Bay Tidal Pool, Black Axe Throwing and the 5 star rated Ctrl Alt Esc escape room, perfect for team building. At the bottom of the road (we dare you to take more than one minute to walk there!) the parade of shops features The Lido Stores art gallery, Bar Nothing for late night dancing and the flagship store for iconic brand Haeckels, with skincare products crafted from locally foraged seaweed. Ballarat House has two kitchens, which makes self catering a breeze. Alternatively, we can recommend a private chef to help make your life easy and ensure you stay focussed on your retreat goals.
