That Amazing Place… More than just a venue!
One of Essex’s premier wedding venues, That Amazing Place is the perfect setting for your special day. 
That Amazing Place is an exclusive use venue, meaning that no other events will take place here on your wedding day. Due to the exclusivity, the 15th-century grade II listed house is all yours for 24 hours, allowing you the freedom and flexibility to have your day, your way. In addition, you and your guests will have exclusive use of the 12 elegant bedrooms sleeping up to 25 guests), including a delicious breakfast the following mroning. To ensure you’re feeling and looking your best, we have a fantastic beauty salon, available for treatments and pampering with our in-house therapist.
The downstairs function space features a large lobby, 2 reception rooms, a licensed bar and a spacious outdoor patio which overlooks the gorgeous grounds with a perfect lake view.
Licensed for civil ceremonies, our largest room, The Hall, can seat up to 100 people for a ceremony, while the Lakeview Lounge can seat up to 70.  You can also say  your vows alfresco underneath our outdoor gazebo against the charming backdrop of the lake.
With large, light rooms and stylish, contemporary interiors the house offers the perfect setting for an intimate wedding breakfast with up to 80 seated guests or for larger parties, our dining marquee (available from 2018) can seat up to 150 guests.

    Truly an Amazing Place! Me and my husband got married at That Amazing Place at the end of August 2024 and it was the most magical day. From start to finish it all ran so smoothly and was extremely well organised. Angie, Louise, Paul and all the staff were super helpful, friendly and polite. Angie was our appointed wedding planner and thank god I had her. The venue was absolutely stunning and the bridal cottage for the night before was just perfect. I couldn't fault a thing and would recommend That Amazing Place to anyone who is thinking of getting married.

    27th July will always be an extremely special day for us and we are so lucky to be able to share that with 'That Amazing Place'. As cliche as it sounds, 'amazing' is the best word to describe every moment of our wedding. Angie and Lizzy's attention to detail, thoughtfulness and talent, meant that our guests were blown over. I was lucky to have such incredible people be in charge of my hard work and planning, which was executed perfectly.
