A very special venue for a very special day.
De Vere Latimer Estate is located within 30 private acres in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Buckinghamshire.
The very secret, 18th century mansion house has one of the most attractive views over a chalk stream in the Chess valley, rich in wildlife and with a long and fascinating history dating back to Roman times.
Built to impress, in the 19th century it became the property of Charles Compton Cavendish who, in 1858 became Lord Chesham of Chesham, and following a £7m refurbishment, your wedding day will be an experience that you and your guests will remember forever.
Surprisingly it is only located five minutes away by car from Chalfont and Latimer station which is on the Metropolitan tube line, offering direct links to Baker Street and BR’s Chiltern line connecting into London Marylebone.
All weddings are tailored to your needs thanks to our experienced team offering excellent customer care, being on hand every step of the way to help create your most perfect and memorable day.

Had a fantastic stay here. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, inside and out. Restaurant served great food options for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the grounds were wonderful for an afternoon stroll. I also enjoyed the spa and pool facilities, though the changing rooms are very tiny. I would highly recommend this place for a relaxing stay

Brilliant Hotel! Customer Service is Amazing. The interconnected rooms are cosy; and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast is good. It's definitely worth staying at this Hotel.

Had a very pleasurable stay. The main manor house property is beautiful. If you get the chance to stay in a suite I suggest you request Room 116 as it was delightful and one of the best in the entire property. Spacious and comfortable. The furniture and styling is of a very high standard. Very impressive room. Nice relaxed vibe throughout the property. There was a large wedding party going on but this was kept separate and did not have a big impact. The 1838 restaurant was nice and relaxed at dinner. Great menu. Lots of choice. The food was nicely presented, well cooked, and tasted delicious. My partner and I took the effort to compliment the chefs. Excellent. Friendly, welcoming, and attentive service throughout dinner - A nice touch by a waitress occurred towards the end of our main course dishes when she came over to ask if my partner was not enjoying her glass of sparkling rose. Whilst my partner admits she is a slow drinker the glass she had received was not suitably chilled and was flat (clearly it was coming to the end of the bottle) - but she did not query it. Once we told the waitress she was very apologetic and immediately offered a fresh one. My partner then received a chilled glass of newly opened sparkling rose. This level of service is wonderful to experience. To have the waitress come over to enquire as she noticed the barely touched beverage is rarely seen these days. The glass of flat room-temperature sparkling rose did not detract from the overall experience of dinner, however the service we received certainly added to the overall experience. The gym and pool are adequate and serviceable. It really depends on if you are lucky to get the place to yourself (as I did). The breakfast is buffet-only. It is plentiful and good quality. I am not a big fan of cooked breakfast buffets, however this one was very good. Some points to note - The mattress in Room 116 is quite hard. It does have a topper however my partner and I both found the bed to be slightly too hard. The door to the room needs better soundproofing. We were woken at different points of the night as there were loud people walking in the corridor. We believe they must have come from the wedding party. Obviously it is beyond the hotel's control when other guests are being thoughtless, however perhaps adding some wall signs requesting people to be respectful of others might be useful? Apart from these two minor issues we both had a wonderful stay and would happily return and recommend De Vere Latimer Estate to anyone. The grounds are beautiful and it is only as short drive from the local station.

Myself and my partner stayed on Sunday in room 115 (one of the deluxe rooms). Unfortunately our experience didn’t live up to what we were expecting. It started off poorly when there was no receptionist in the Mansion House and no indication of instructions that we need to head to the main reception to check in. We were eventually told this by another guest, as we were looking everywhere for a way to summon a member of staff (i.e. bell) to the reception desk in the mansion house. We both had to have cold showers as there was no hot water to the shower (we tried turning the tap both anticlockwise and clockwise) and it didn’t change the temperature in the shower. However, the sink tap was hot? Also the room key cards had been deactivated in morning. I helped my partner to her car with her bags and when I returned to my room to collect my own bags to leave, the cards wouldn’t work. On explaining the issues we had faced there was no apology from reception just a comment that they would pass on to maintenance the issue with the shower. This was the disappointing part of the stay. I very rarely complain or write reviews, but in this instance I think it’s warranted as given the cost of the room, the customer service we received was lacking, and we have received better customer service from the Preimer inn.

Just had a 2 night stay, booked via Secret Escapes. Hotel location is great and the grounds are extensive. Check in was good, and our room was ready when we arrived at 1pm. A few things let it down and all are easily sorted out. Room has no A/C and heating is controlled centrally, so be prepared to be cold or boiling hot. Bathroom was small and narrow, no space for more than one person. Went to the Library for a drink the lunchtime we arrived - no table service, you have to order at the bar - would be good to have something on the menu or table to let you know Room is lovely and you can imagine being back there in the times of ‘The Spy House’ during WWII. Dinner the first evening, and we’d booked in advance, they had run out of 2 starters and no ‘daily specials’ left. Didn’t like the fact that where tables were being relaid after people had left, the unused cutlery and glassware was left on the table and set up for the next guests. Decided to have coffee in The Library after dinner. Asked for an Irish coffee, sorry run out of cream… Breakfast the first morning was OK, but again it’s the little touches, just told it’s a buffet and sit where you like, don’t check if we’ve had breakfast there before or explain where the various food & drink stations are. Had a great walk out locally and around the grounds - it really is a beautiful location. Stopped off in the Library for lunch and they’ve run out of Heineken…are you sensing the ‘running out’ theme. Dinner on second evening, ordered a bottle of wine, which was duly delivered, put in the table, not opened and usually you get an opportunity to taste. Dining Room and bar staff are young and friendly, but don’t seem to be very experienced or well trained and this is where it’s let down. Great location, some amazing features in the hotel, but a few things that need to be improved on
