About Venue
In the South Downs National Park, The Spread Eagle Hotel & Spa dates back to 1430. Old and original features are still present, including inglenook fireplaces, Tudor bread ovens, Flemish stained-glass windows and oak beams. Each of its bedrooms is individually designed, and the cosy Queen’s Suite is said to have housed Elizabeth I. The largest of the function rooms is the Jacobean Hall, which has stone walls, heraldic banners and a minstrels gallery. The more intimate King Edward VII Suite, on the other hand, is ideal for informal meetings. Guests in need of some R&R should check out the Scandinavian-style spa and indoor pool.

My mother in law and I visited the The Spread Eagle for a Spa day which was heavenly. The staff are always so friendly and accommodating, and we had a wonderful day full of relaxation, massages, and fantastic food. They use Temple Spa products which smell incredible and made our skin glow, they tend to have offers on the products too so it's always nice to take a little treat home to continue the spa experience. I've already booked my return visit and always look forward to returning. I highly recommend. Thank you for a fabulous day.

We had an amazing experience here. The staff, the hotel (and spa) and the location were perfect for us. The staff went out of their way to help us celebrate a birthday and made us feel very welcome and well cared for. We had the sort of experience that makes you want to plan another visit as soon as possible. Truly wonderful

We stayed overnight for our wedding anniversary and it was superb. Jayne at reception was very welcoming on our arrival and proceeded to show us our room ( which had been upgraded). It was lovely. Horace in the restaurant was also very welcoming and professional. We were offered two complimentary glases of fizz. The food was superb and the Spa was a delight. Such a lovely historic hotel to stay at. Thank you 😊

We had a great stay for my birthday, there's nothing negative to say. All the staff were very friendly and professional. We felt so at home as soon as we arrived. The room was fantastic and the homemade biscuits were lovely. We appreciated the swimming pool and used it on both days. The food in the restaurant was great and my husband said that the cold selection at breakfast was the best he had ever had. We will definitely return after having such a special stay. Thank you.

Gorgeous spa located in a quaint town! We did afternoon tea but I would recommend to stay over for the night as better value for money! Afternoon was not long enough to enjoy the facilities of the spa. Would definitely come back.
