In the South Downs National Park, The Spread Eagle Hotel & Spa dates back to 1430. Old and original features are still present, including inglenook fireplaces, Tudor bread ovens, Flemish stained-glass windows and oak beams. Each of its bedrooms is individually designed, and the cosy Queen’s Suite is said to have housed Elizabeth I. The largest of the function rooms is the Jacobean Hall, which has stone walls, heraldic banners and a minstrels gallery. The more intimate King Edward VII Suite, on the other hand, is ideal for informal meetings. Guests in need of some R&R should check out the Scandinavian-style spa and indoor pool.

Had the most wonderful Spa afternoon with a meal and drinks included. The staff are probably what makes this experience the best. Nothing was a problem. Extremely attentive. Not over busy so no waits for any of the facilities. Ultra relaxing. Will definitely be back.

Lovely old fashioned hotel bursting with history and immaculate service. You can eat in the Conservatory if you want a more relaxed feel. Sarah is a wonderful General manager who takes great pride in the hotel and all her staff.

Visited here for a full day at the spa with 2 treatments. The spa was lovely and well maintained. Not overly busy which was also great. Had a full body massage which was lovely. We had lunch in the restaurant which was amazing (Highly recommend the burger). All the staff were brilliant so kind and helpful. Will definitely visit here again fantastic venue!

We had the most amazing time in this beautiful and historic hotel run by Sarah and her team. We brought our little dog with who had many needs and staff graciously looked after him and us during our stay. No request was too small and we were attended to with a smile and care. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the ambiance. We would certainly recommend this wonderful hotel and its team to all our friends travelling to Midhurst. Thank you!!!

Lovely place to stay, very nice rooms with lots of thought gone into what one may want or need. All staff were absolutely wonderful, kind, polite & attentive. We enjoyed a tasty evening meal & breakfast with such a lot of choice. I would highly recommend a visit. A little suggestion due to the room being very warm, we did have a fan that helped, but maybe a thinner quilt for the warmer months.
