The glorious property offers relaxed countryside living, with a dash of laidback luxe… Our large & lovely cottage is ideal for multi-generational get togethers- set-up so that everyone can all start counting down to nature-filled walks by-day & starlit suppers by-night. Bordering the forest, and cocooned amongst a 3 acre plot, just follow the ponies down the quiet track to indulge in free range fun with your favourite people… and don’t forget to bring your swimmers for splash pool & hot tub fun! We love how the large windows & open-plan layout here brings the outside in, and you’re encouraged to enjoy whatever-the-weather wanderlust throughout all the seasons (pack wellies for woodland wanders & flip flops to hop to the hot tub). From birdwatching, to den-building, the bounty of wilderness & wildlife here really does encourage you to live life in the slow lane… And, after a day in the great outdoors, we can’t think of a more serene place to reconvene as the evening draws-in.
Little ones will delight at the games room, whilst the grown-ups can chatter & natter by the flickering fire. Bring your bike (or arrange for hire bikes to be delivered) to ride into Burley village & fill your basket with local produce. With a couple of fab watering holes here too, we’d also plan a refreshing pit stop in on the way home. This is county living!

November 2024Fantastic estate, beautiful views over the estate. Good circular walk with friendly locals. Deer and pigs roam freely around the estate and lots of people visit to walk their dogs. 2 local pubs, cafes, fantastic sweet shop and ice cream vendor. All in all a great fun place to spend a few days on the border of the new forest.

December 2024Booked a 3 night stay for the Christmas period. Hotel was lovely, warm and staff were very friendly. We chose this location as they allowed dogs. Staff and other people staying in the hotel were very accommodating. Breakfast and dinners were very good.

December 2024I was with a party of 56 people today for our Christmas lunch. The basic organisation was appalling. There were only two waiters to serve us all until our President complained and a couple more staff were found. The initial staff were extremely helpful and friendly but the meal left a lot to be desired. The Brussels sprouts appeared to be taken out of the fridge, uncooked and the potatoes were like leather. The Venison that I had was lovely. That was the only saving grace in the whole meal. Overall the whole meal was barely warm. There was a minimum of 50 minutes between the first course and second. Management, you need to get your act together. This was my second visit to The Burley Hotel/Restaurant and to say on both occasions the whole setup appeared to be totally chaotic.

October 2024We stayed in a garden room with our children. The room itself was nice and clean. The bathroom unfortunately was in real need of maintenance. The wood panelling was all peeling up behind the sink, the shower head/attachment valve selector was broken so it just swung around freely. It was also completely cold which we only discovered in the morning. Calling the front desk at 7:30am, we were told to call back when the manager got in. We skipped the shower in the end. The staff were nice and friendly but felt a little stretched with everything taking a painfully long time. I was midway through my main course before my drink arrived. It didn't really feel like anyone was in charge. Once it arrived, the food was good quality, especially the breakfast. Location wise it's a very picturesque location and a close walk to the centre of the village where there's a few shops and places to eat. If you have a good room then it's probably a 3/5 but at just over £300 a night for our stay, it didn't feel good value at all.

December 2024Went there for Lunch to celebrate a wedding, total of 9. The staff were absolutely brilliant. The service took so long as we were the only ones there, apart from maybe 5 other people who were drinking. Was not filling and they automatically put a service charge, which should be our choice, not automaticlly. The menu was limited. The views and gardens are out of this world would be beautiful in spring/ summer. Sorry but would not eat there again.
