Bartley Lodge Hotel, Georgian Room

We visited here as part of a wedding party. We were not staying overnight, so I cannot comment on the rooms. The location is tucked out of the way enough that it is peaceful and has plenty of grounds to roam in. The building itself is decorated as you would expect of a semi remote grand hotel, lots of wood and neutral colours. There is a nice snug bar area, and some.brwak out rooms. The venue room used for the wedding reception was large and we had a great time dancing and mixing with the wedding party and other guests. The service at the bar was good. They had no lime cordial left when we arrived and half way through the night, the beer my husband was drinking ran out. Considering this was a planned event and there was also a wedding show on the next day, I thought this was poor. We ordered a coffee at one point, we couldn't order this at the bar, this had to be ordered at the restaurant, it took a while to arrive so we chased it. So my thought would be to be able to access or order hot drinks from the bar as well as cold drinks. Either way, we had a great evening. The kids enjoyed climbing trees and running around in the vast gardens. I would like to stay here one day. As a venue to hire, I would say it fit the bill.

Had an afternoon tea with a friend which was lovely was a special deal sat in conservatory only negative was so many wasps. Had a walk in the garden after very peaceful place. Staff were very nice and helpful.

Beautiful location within the New Forest. Would certainly return again. Very good location for places to eat near by. Rooms are a good size; comfortable but maybe a little dated and could do with a lick of paint. Very accommodating with my child. Pre placed a travel cot in our room should she have needed it.. Surrounding areas are stunning. Very picturesque. Well maintained and very pleasant to sit in and just relax.
