Absolutely incredible experience! We stayed in the King Henry VII for one night and it was amazing! Dinner was amazing and delicious! I definitely recommend afternoon tea! The grounds are beautiful and overall it is just a stunning experience to stay in a castle that was built over 600 years ago!

Once you step inside the Thornbury Castle you’ll be overwhelmed by the historic atmosphere of the place. The staff are top class, efficient and polite but very friendly and helpful. The wonderful array of cakes, scones, and assorted sandwiches are all served in style, with a choice of fine beverages. The interiors of the place are fit for a king. Simply magnificent. The room was spacious and airy with a welcoming fire on a cold afternoon. The rest of the building is a breathtaking spectacle of priceless artefacts, sumptuous furnishings, and majestic fireplaces. After your tea you will feel the need to explore the beautiful grounds of this wonderful castle.

Thornbury Castle is an amazing place. Stayed there for a weekend for my wife’s birthday. The decor and atmosphere are amazing, and the staff are all very nice and accommodating. The gardens are beautiful. Great drink menu and wonderful tea. You can reserve dinner in the formal dining room or have an informal dinner in the parlor. We even had room service one evening. It is literally a castle that has been renovated and refurbished with all the pomp and circumstance you can imagine of such. But it is also a calm and relaxing atmosphere outside the small town of Thornbury. So you can freely choose to be as posh and classy and/or as relaxed and laid back as you prefer. It was actually a great place to wind down for a few days after spending a week in London. Not much to do in the little adjacent town, so plan to stay here to just relax or take day trips to other sites. Highly recommend Thornbury Castle for a romantic and relaxing few days.

Our family of four stayed for one unforgettable night at this magnificent castle hotel, and it was truly like stepping back in time. The historic charm of this centuries-old castle, meticulously preserved, offers an experience that’s both luxurious and steeped in history. Every detail, from the immaculate grounds to the stunning interior, reflects the care and dedication put into maintaining this unique property. The service was impeccable—worthy of a five-star rating—with staff who were not only professional but also warm and welcoming. Our room was spotless, beautifully maintained, and the beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay, and we highly recommend this extraordinary hotel for anyone looking to experience a blend of history, luxury, and exceptional hospitality.
