February 2025We stayed on the 1st February and cannot recommend the hotel enough. The room and hotel were absolutely spotless and breakfast was great. The staff always went over and above from the girl, Laura who booked us in, the young boys who were also working reception, to the staff at breakfast. We have stayed in many hotels but this was by far the best by a long shot. Will definitely be back soon.

March 2025We stopped here for an overnight stay, easy book in, reception staff friendly, remember if you have a carpark ticket to get it validated at the desk. The room was a bit on the small side, but it was good enough for one night. Plenty of storage, lockable safe, coffee, and tea making facilities. Bath and shower, comfortable bed, and good WiFi. On the downside, there was no heating. Told the receptionist when we checked out, and they did say we should have reported it, as it could have been fixed. Breakfast has plenty of choices to suit all tastes, coffee very good, but we found z couple of issues, by 8am, there was no black pudding, the toasters weren't set up correctly and the toast was falling out the back of the toaster, the trays were missing. Which was sorted when I told the staff. Scrambled eggs were actually cold and uneatable. For some reason, they are kept in a cast iron container, but the lid is hotter than the eggs. We've stayed here numerous times through the years, and previously, you were able to order fried or poached eggs, there were no menus on the table so we assumed it was continental or the look warm buffet, disappointing to be honest.

January 2025Rooms are basic and rather noisy overnight. Breakfast was basic and variety limited. It would not be a place I could see myself staying in again. It is extremely convenient in terms of its location both to the sights and train station. Bathroom was basic with no rain shower and leaking tap. But overall it was disappointing.
