Great room. Absolutely fantastic breakfast spread for 10 quid. Well located. Very helpful staff. Overall a great stay. Would recommenf it and stay here again.

This was a nice, quiet hotel but still close enough to the center of the city to be within easy walking distance of most things you want to see and do. It's also near a subway stop, and there's a friendly little pub called Jackson's near-by that's fun to visit. We got in early from a trans-Atlantic flight and were totally jet-lagged. After directing us to a tasty place to have breakfast, the staff were able to get us into a room very early so that we could get a little nap before exploring further. We had an excellent stay.

My friend and I arrived from Toronto to Glasgow at 11am. We made our way to the hotel where they allowed us to drop off or luggage. They gave us a ticket for each bag and stored it securely away until we could check in after we went for lunch. When we returned they promptly got our luggage have us our room key and a warm cookie. The room is gorgeous. Clean, beautiful beds and lovely decor in the room. Food was delicious... Black pudding and potato salad, cod in cream cheese sauce, and sticky toffee pudding!!

Our room was very spacious, luxurious and very clean. Some of the halls show aging - but one spends little time in the halls! The room was quiet with a very central location and walking distance to all of Glasgow attractions. The breakfast was excellent offering hot and cold buffet, lovely pastries, great coffee. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Only downside, and this will only impact Diamond members and executive rooms, is that the Executive Lounge was not as nice as we've seen at other Doubletree locations.

Great location, comfortable stay. Clean bed, sheets and bathroom. LOVED the warm 'welcome cookie' 🍪 That's how it's supposed to be done! Everything was great, except.. we've ordered for cutlery to have food at our room, which never came. Would have appreciated if it was communicated to us, that there was no availability of cutlery at that time, instead of making us wait.

Really nice hotel with friendly reception staff, good bar area and lobby. The hotel has fitness facilities, gym on the 1st floor and pool on the ground floor. The pool can be really busy so if you’re actually wanting to swim then choose off peak times. The rooms are really good, serviced by 2 reliable fast lifts (never failed in the many times I’ve stayed). Usual rooms for the Hilton, modern, clean, comfortable. The bathroom is good, spacious and has a decent shower. Iron, spare towels and safe are in the wardrobe. I’ve not eaten in the restaurant other than for breakfast but this was good. Lots of road works outside the hotel and in the immediate vicinity which is a complete pain at times even for pedestrians/hailing a cab etc. But of course this is outside the hotels control. Walking distance of shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways. I’ve always travelled alone and felt pretty safe for a city centre location. Within 2 minutes of walking is a Farm Foods, Tesco Express and maybe 5 minutes walk is Sainsbury’s. Sauchiehall Street is 2 minutes away from the hotel which gives plenty of options for shopping and food. I’ve walked to the hotel many times from Glasgow Queens Street and it’s a nice 10 minute walk with suitcase in tow. A good hotel overall, highly recommended on the basis of regular stays in the past 12 months.

Location is great, shame that due to the roadworks part of the road was blocked. Charges for parking is a over kill. Room cleaners do not restock on toilet paper. Have to remind the cleaning team to clean the room. There is no water supplied in the rooms as complimentary. Even 3 star hotels offer that as a basic. The Wifi was good and reliable. Small swimming pool, they really need to look into expanding the pool or having a secondary pool somewhere else on the hotel. Parent feels it's right to bring underage kids into the jacuzzi. However, you can not entirely fault the parents as it has not been signed, posted clearly, nor is any staff member checking up. The lifts are super fast, but there is a downfall. It seeks to get caught between lower ground floor and ground floor when someone presses the button for the lift between these two floors whilst inside the lift you can feel as though you have been trapped inside the lift. It's a scary experience. AC does nor work the best. Please fix it.

Some good things and some problems in terms of this Hilton. We booked a simple double room - two double beds and a pull out sofa. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were clean. The sofa was obviously dangerous, though, and my toddler immediately got hurt on it. We phoned the front desk, and they sent someone up who agreed that it was dangerous and maybe a bit broken. This will need to be replaced, but I wonder why it wasn’t replaced when it became obviously worn out and why we had to point it out, which was awkward. The electrical wiring for the bathroom was a bit faulty and made a buzzing noise and needed the switch flicked a few times in the bathroom. The water pressure was good and the cleaners are excellent. The TV doesn’t have internet access so you can’t use Netflix or even YouTube even though it’s a smart TV, which is frustrating if you have kids or just want to watch something that isn’t daytime TV. Parking is wildly expensive. Room service isn’t very good value for money, because the food isn’t tasty, unfortunately - with the exception of the superfood salad, which was fresh and tasty. I recommend it, but not the dry burger or limp and undercooked chips, or genuinely terrible pizza. The people working at reception are always polite and professional, and we got warm cookies when we arrived. That was really nice and made a great impression. The water in the pool is very warm, which is great. However, they’ve gotten rid of the sauna, and getting to the steam room means going up and down some rickety stairs that are past their prime. The tiles could do with a good scrubbing and maybe replacing, the pool could use some updating, and the changing room had big puddles and was very slippery except where a few non-slip mats were down. The tiles on the bathroom floors in the rooms are much better - a bit rough for traction, which makes them much more safe. It would also be great if they had swimming rings for sale for children and babies like the cheaper Glasgow Life public pools do, not just water wings. The shampoo, conditioner and body wash is mounted to the wall in the bathroom (a bit hospital/industrial seeming) and during a bath, you have to stand up to access it then sit down again. When kneeling on the floor to bathe the kids, it’s stressful that these are so high. I also noticed that the conditioner was empty and hadn’t been checked. This was fixed when I phoned down, but I was surprised I needed to. There was no mini-fridge, and just those cheap UHT milk pods and Twinings tea and instant coffee with a kettle. In 2024, most hotels I go to have a wee coffee machine in the room that takes pods, not the instant Nescafé sachets from 2002. There was no bottled water, and no pitcher for getting water from the tap. There are extensive roadwork outside the hotel, but this can’t be helped - however, the signage showing where people should park could be better and clearer. One of the lifts broke while we were there, but the lift doors open for only an instant and then close again so quickly you sometimes don’t have time to get on or off - some other reviews mention this as well, and I’ve never seen lifts like these (with that timing) anywhere else before. The curtains were amazing for blocking the light, and there were a good amount of light sources to choose from in the room. We slept well, and the room’s thermostat worked well and we were able to select the most comfortable temperature for us. That was really good. There was also a hair dryer and an iron and ironing board available, and good storage space in the drawers, though not very many hangers in the wardrobe. We also had to phone down to get the Do Not Disturb sign, which was not in the room when we arrived. All in all, not quite what you’d expect from a Hilton, but there’s definitely worse places out there!

Had an event in this location - lovely hotel, lovely reception staff Unfortunately, whoever was dealing with the lights in one of the rooms on the evening of the 1st day of the event decided it was a good idea to help themselves to some of our sweets we had stored behind the stall. Granted, this didn’t cost much, but considering we’d left all of the stock there overnight ready for the following day, it’s not great knowing that someone has been been behind it and had a look around; especially since we don’t sell sweet and it was for us as the vendors! Disappointed.
