The room left much to be desired, no cold water from the bathroom taps, no bottled water in the room, no fridge to keep drinks cold. Standard flat screen tv, unable to connect to phone. No onside parking - it's across the road at the Q Park. Breakfast buffet is £20 per day and not included in room bookings Room service did bring me a jar of water whenever I asked for one. The bed was super soft and bouncy - great nights sleep! There was aircon in the room which I really was grateful for. The hotel itself is beautiful and retains a lot of its historical charm... including a cage elevator to get up stairs!

2 night stay on a business trip. Room was a decent size but very dated. Thought I'd gone back to 1974. AC did not work, and still wasn't working when I left despite asking 3 people to get it fixed. The did provide me with a fan however. The best part of the stay was breakfast which was good and freshly cooked. Other than that I'd avoid this one. The Apex just down the road is much nicer

The staff at the hotel are incredibly kind and helpful. All of our encounters were pleasant. We did have several problems with the hotel. The list of problems: * The only lift for the hotel was broken during our entire stay of 3 nights. We were on the 3rd floor and had several pieces of luggage with our group. * We were told that we could park from late night to 8:30am on the street without a problem. We got a 30 pound parking ticket at 8:17am. The actual time when meters started was 8:00am. * The WiFi in the room was horribly slow. I could not work. * The room smelled of cigarette smoke and mildew. * The bedrooms are dated. They had a bit of dust around the furniture and curtains and the mattress sunk in the middle. * The toilet was difficult to flush. * The sink only had cold water or, after asking for a repair, only hot water. We had to get drinking water from the bathtub. * They gave little toilet paper and tissues that we had to get more from the front desk the first day. Housekeeping did not service the room on the first day, for some reason.

Photographs well but… GROSS!! The room is large. As soon as we entered the hallway for our room it reeked of cigarettes. Our room smells stale and the carpet looks like it hasn’t been replaced nor cleaned since 1980-something. The couch is in poor condition (tattered edges, lacking cushion) and the bathroom is super basic, a bit dirty and barely a step up from a hostel bathroom. Not what I was expecting based on the description and photographs.
