Marvellous place to visit in an easy to reach location. Great sights and excellent (free) audio guide. Really helpful unobtrusive staff and lots of photo opportunities. Equally good in any weather conditions. Great tea rooms; I had Dundee Cake and a Bonnie Prince Charlie coffee on board The Royal Yacht Britannia today, 8/10 for portion size, quality and taste and smashing friendly service.

We really enjoyed the tour of Britannia! It’s a rather unique experience too. The ticket price is a bit steep but understandable if that’s the only source of funds to upkeep the ship. The audio tour is included in the price and does a good job explaining all the different parts of the boat. We decided to walk the tour which took a little over an hour and then grabbed a beer at the tea room at the end. The tour is very accessible as all the stairs and elevators are external to the ship.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour of Britannia! Great unique experience. There's an audio tour, either download the app on your phone or get given a handset. Great descriptions on explaining all the different parts of the boat, history and the royal family. The ticket price is reasonable considering how much you can get out of the tour and how well maintain the ship too. The tour is very accessible as all the stairs and elevators are external to the ship. We spent around 2hrs on the boat. Would highly recommend.

Just an excellent, well presented tour. The free audio link is clear and easy to use, with a number of language options. The tour guides you through all parts of the ship, from the bridge to the laundry room and everything in between. The volunteer on the sun deck was very knowledgeable and answered any questions and took photos . I think it is a must to see on any trip to this great little city, and excellent value for money

All aboard! The Royal Yacht Britannia is one of the top attractions to visit while in Edinburgh! It felt surreal to be on the Royal Family's home on the seas, which they used for over 40 years! Seeing many photos from decades past of Charles and Diana's honeymoon and the Queen's many voyages, it was quite an experience to actually see the interior. The decor is not as opulent as one might expect. It had a much more relaxed everyday feel to it, which was a bit of a surprise but also part of its charm. It was really interesting to hear the history following along with the self guided audio tour. I enjoyed visiting the tea room the most! I was fortunate to be the first to enter and see the entire space before the crowds took over. The coffee, tea, and scones were delightful! Tickets to visit the yacht can be purchased in advance. They also have family pricing options available at a discount. The last stop for me was the gift shop. I was thrilled to find a mini corgi souvenir amongst other memorable items to take home with me! I highly recommend making a day trip out to see the Royal Yacht while visiting Scotland!
