We had such a fantastic time staying at this hotel. The service was good even when we did have difficulty they fixed it. But the room was divine and rhe bathroom had heated floors. I would stay here again every time I visit. The location was perfect for walking around town.

We got married at The Glasshouse back in July and we could not have asked for a more perfect day. Not only is the hotel and the rooftop beautiful and makes the most perfect setting ,but the staff and events team are exceptional. From the concierge Jonathan (every time we visited), to Judy, Meghan, Emily and the whole team, we were treated like royalty and had the most wonderful day. Nothing was too much trouble, the team brought our vision to life and even managed to hold the rain for us to get married out doors. My husband and I highly, highly recommend the Glasshouse. From our menu tasting, to the food on the day (which our guests loved), the service throughout and fire alarm going off, we would choose the Glasshouse again in an instance. We cannot thank The Glasshouse enough.

I’ve been visiting this hotel for the past 14 yrs. It’s a fantastic hotel, a true treasure. The rooftop garden is a priceless feature that allows for one to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. There are rooms with balconies off the garden but they are not too private. The best rooms are those that face the front of the building. They are larger rooms with a slightly separated sitting area and a very large semi-private balcony. Of course they are suites so they come with a price. I have stayed in many different rooms over the years and prefer either the front-facing suites or the side facing rooms with a private balcony (albeit smaller than the suites). For me when traveling, being able sit outside with my tea—even in the rain—is a comfort. There is a very large suite on a lower level. It has a massive bathroom (think huge soaking tub and crazy rain shower), and a sitting area slightly separated from the bedroom area, but no balcony though. The hotel has a lovely snug to sit and enjoy a cocktail or coffee. You can also dine there for a casual meal. Unfortunately this last visit (summer 2024), I found the food to have dropped in quality. The menu had changed since I was there last, and I found the dishes to be underwhelming, plus they came to us lukewarm. The one thing that hadn’t changed were the haggis bonbons. Well worth a try! Breakfast is served in a more traditional restaurant setting one level down from the snug. The food is good but nothing exceptional. It’s a solid way to start the day though. You can choose from continental or order from the hot menu. All the classics are there. The staff are always super friendly and helpful (I’m sorry to know Harry is leaving). The front of house staff are amazing. Always helpful and attentive. They always seem to do what they can to help their guests. After all the visits I have had to the Glasshouse, it hasn’t really changed. But I think it’s starting to show its age. The rooms, although still very comfortable and nice, need to be updated. It is time.

The Glasshouse was a great hotel experience for our stay in Edinburgh. The views from the 3rd floor outdoor rooftop area are fantastic and the bar inside is quite nice. I did not love that our room literally opened right in front of that bar, but we received it as part of a complimentary status upgrade so it's hard to complain. The rooms were quite nice and well decorated, however be careful with the showers as they're prone to flooding the floor. Service was solid throughout our stay, and noise was minimal in our room. Would stay here again. Heated bathroom floors were a nice surprise!
