December 2024Stayed recently with a friend for the Christmas Fair and although a very tired looking hotel, the staff and breakfast and evening meals were very good š The room was basic but clean and comfortable, although the bathroom could have done with updating it was still functional! But could not fault the staff. They were accommodating, helpful and a lot of fun š The guy who owns it could do with spending money on it but I guess that is difficult when you live abroad in a tax haven country! I hope he pays his staff well because they definitely deserve it. Will stay again š

February 2025I have stayed at Britannia Hotel Edinburgh multiple times and can confirm that the hotel is reasonable for the price paid in particular if booked during the non-peak times. There are multiple cars parking spaces available and I like the idea of check in at any times. The room size as well as bed size are very good too. The only concern is that sometimes some of the room occupiers are very noisy during the night.

February 2025We didnāt have the best stay in the Britannia hotel. The room was okay. The bed was quite comfortable but there was no radiator or heating in the bathroom at all and the window didnāt close properly so it was absolutely freezing. The staff werenāt very helpful apart from one girl when we checked in and to be fair, she was very nice. Itās not the most expensive of hotels but you do still expect a certain level of service. There are some reviews saying that the hotel was good or at least okay so it might just be down to potluck on what room you get. so if you do go and arenāt happy with your room I would suggest straight down and try to get a better one or give it amiss all together.

February 2025Avoid at all costs payed £120 per night to find a filthy room worn out mattress with the springs popping out ,no hot water in shower ,had to shower using a cup and water from the sink ! I read that on the reviews but assumed a basic necessity ! Even a bed and breakfast for £20 offers them a decent bed and hot showers! The entrance was a disgrace and so were floors infront of lifts sticky and gooey you can hear the the muck stuck to the bottom of your soles with every step! Breakfast way below average not even one coffee machine ! Just sachets and hot water!

February 2025The room we has booked was terrible a dirty towel was left in the main bedroom area, a huge dent had been made in one of the walls but worst of all the bathroom window has black mould all away around the window frame and an attempt was made to paint some of the small window paint with white paint. No curtain was there for privacy we paid £85 for this room. After a complaint to a very matter of fact receptionist we were give. Another room which was a bit better. I would avoid this hotel
