A really nice place to stop for a drink and or meal. I didn't stay there but it seemed very popular as it was very busy at the reception. We had champagne and a bar meal, which was very tasty and well presented. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

This is a proper 5 star hotel and sets a standard that very few hotels can match. The service was consistently excellent and many staff really went out of their way to help. I would happily stay here again, although it is somewhat on the pricey side. If you can afford it, I can't imagine a better place to stay in Edinburgh.

We had a lovely lunch in the restaurant earlier this week. Excellent ambience, fantastic food and we had the pleasure of being served by 2 brilliant waiters. One a charming young lad (American) and an Italian lady (apologies we did not get your names). They looked after our company, very helpful and made our lunch experience that bit special. We will return. Thanks.

This was our first time staying at the Balmoral having walked passed it on the street for many years! The doormen were lovely and kindly helped us with bags. Karen from reception was lovely and made us feel very welcome, she took time to explain everything to us and where we could find everything. We enjoyed a fantastic meal at the Brasserie Prince then went though to the whisky bar where Curtis made us feel very welcome and gave us an amazing experience sharing his passion and knowledge of Scotch Whisky. We really hope to be back again. Thanks again for an amazing experience!

Hotel is super clean with an excellent service. The food is great however the breakfast is limited for people not eating salmon or/and pork. Cooked smoked salmon, turkey...would have been great to have as option for a 5 stars hotel
