Residence Inn By Marriott, Edinburgh, Lobby Bar

Stayed here on two separate occasions when visiting Edinburgh to attend The Fringe Festival. My only complaint is that breakfast was never hot enough. For my 8 days or so, breakfast was typically cold. I'm not sure why they don't put covers on their eggs, beans, sausage pots, but by the time you got to your seat, any warmth that was there was completely gone and you were left with a disappointing food (except the yummy bread!). :( I still gave it 5 stars because this is totally fixable, and I really did enjoy my stay otherwise.

Literally the kindest hotel staff I’ve ever met. They offer a complementary breakfast, the chef is the best 😄. Also complementary coffee available all day, so that’s like 10/10 for me. Rooms are great too, they got gas heating + air conditioning.

Okay so, first, I could only give 3 stars because I barely slept as the beds and mattresses are terrible and have been since we visited 3 years ago. I understand they are beginning to give the rooms a fresh makeover so hopefully that will include the beds and mattresses. As for customer service, I give Melvish and the all the staff a 10 out of 10. They were all so kind and helpful. We love staying here because we love Old Town.
