This is a lovely place. Rooms are large and we have a great view from our room too. Staff couldn’t do more. Very friendly and helpful. The restaurant here is good. The whole family sat for a meal. The choice is a little limited, but very happy with what was on offer. My father in law had fish and chips, huge piece of cod and chunky chips, I had the slow cooked beef in red wine., our lad had a huge burger and the lady’s had a chicken salad. All very nice. The staff serving made it a great night. This place is a credit to this wonderful city and reflection of the beautiful people here. Highly recommend this place.

I loved my room with a view of Arthur's seat and the sunrise in the mornings. The bar was a nice spot for evening cocktails. There was a lot going on in the weeks we visited, so the hotel location was a huge plus.

Overall, I had a lovely stay at this hotel. I got a free room upgrade to one of the suites, which was a lovely surprise with tons of room. The spa facilities were really nice, a lovely pool, sauna and steam room. When it's quiet it is amazing. Only small negatives that took a star off was the water pressure was poor and during the night we noticed the noise from the royal mile below especially in the wee hours of the morning.

The hotel staff is very inviting. During the Tattoo, it is a very convenient location about .3 away. Ask for a higher floor. On the first floor, it was noisy with the outside bar scene until 4 am. The rooms are clean and nice. The beds are comfortable and you can request different pillows and quilts. Breakfast is great with a wide variety.

The short and long of it was: I booked in here with pretty low expectations, based purely on location for a 1 night stop over while headed north. I was very impressed and the experience far outweighed my expectations! The staff were hands down just the nicest friendliest people around. My room was spotlessly clean. I asked for a specific style of bathroom which they arranged for me ahead of time, no problems. I booked breakfast but then slept through it, which the receptionist discreetly wiped from my bill which was unexpected and kind. The only reason this gets a star knocked off is that my room smelled like cigarette smoke on and off through my stay, I guessed someone was smoking near the air con vent? OR next door?
