July 2024Big comfortable room in a mansion style hotel. Spacious bathroom with bathtub. Helpful & pleasant staff. Our room was on first floor and there was no lift, they helped shift our suitcases to the room. It's located in a peaceful area away from from Royal Mile so one needs to take taxi or public transport each time.

August 2024Great Hotel and lovely food in the booty! Service was top and super friendly. Very charming and clean rooms. We loved the location a little bit outside of the center. a bus station with regularly deiving buses is just there and it just takes you around 10 to 15 minutes. But if you‘d like to stay in the center this is not your hotel.

September 2024As you ènter the hotel the carpet is filty. Room was not ready on check in. There is no air conditioning. The bathroom looked like a nursing home bathroom. An old fold down chair with moldy legs. Toiletries sit on top of the folded chair. There is a heater inside the shower. Very dangerous. It's wide open water goes all over entire bathroom creating a dangerous situation. No room around sink for toiletries. Camr back from day out at 430pm and room still had not been made up. Too far from city centee.

August 2024The hotel was recently renovated and the decoration is nice. However, they are understaffed and they didn’t clean the room in 3 days. There is no elevator. The comunication with the restaurant is no good, we paid the breakfast and they asked to pay it again bc they didnt have the record. It is 20 min by bus from the center but it is easy to get there.

August 2024After 2 days of traveling due to flight cancellations and multiple delays - we get to Edinburgh at a hotel I booked 2 months ago. It was 11:30pm at night and we were hungry and super tired. I booked this hotel via Expedia and booked a “family” room thinking I paid for 3 people. In the US - you pay for the room PERIOD!!! When I got to the hotel tired and hungry in the middle of the night - the General Manager( Mr Baxter) instead of welcoming us , greeted me with “ you only paid for 2 people and you need to pay for 1 more “, my 10 year old son… so I asked him what does that mean ( meaning to ask for the price) and he got annoyed and said “ you can leave and go to another hotel” .. WHEN DID I REFUSE TO PAY! I asked for the price. As a general manager I would expect him to welcome guests with warmth and understanding of late night check ins - instead he was mean and rude and basically ready to kick us out in the middle of the night only for me asking what the price would be to add another person! Terrible customer service! This hotel is so old and away from the main city. No elevators so you are dragging your luggage all the way to your room. The staff did help us carry some of our bags as our room was on the 3 floor! The onsite restaurant for breakfast was trash! You are paying for terrible breakfast. The room itself was decent as I was in a family room but for the price you are paying - it’s a 1 star hotel for 4 star prices… stay away!
