December 2024Excellent day out, lots of animals and they all seem to be well looked after. The place is wheelchair accessible but it is on a hill. Penguin rock is a highlight. Always worth going for the day and revisiting certain animals at different times to make sure you get to see everyone. I hung about for an extra two hours waiting for Haggis the pygmy hippo to wake up!

February 2025Nice visit, quieter than usual which made it easier to view the busier animal enclosures. The staff are all super helpful and up for chatting about the animals. Was nice to see that the last red panda is doing okay after its companions passed away in the last few months.

March 2025Big zoo with some species I saw for the first time. Animals looked happy and over all the spaces are well kept . They run talks and special days. It made me also happy to read about their successful missions on rescuing some of the species from extinction. Well done!!!💖💖💖🐒🐕🦍🦬🦒🐀🐇🦎🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐚🕷🐌 Never seen Giraffe on such close distance. Monkeys were super cute and interactive 😂🥰 Giant anteaters with long noses fascinating. Beautiful day 🌞

March 202510am start with toddler. Entire zoo is on a hill, there are paths but some areas/buildings do have steps and the correct route is not always obvious. Pretty good viewing points for big animals like the lion and giraffes. There are toilets dotted around but not all have changing stations. Ice cream prices were reasonable, didn't try the other shops but they do offer hot food. Would go again.

January 2025I love Edinburgh Zoo, the staff are also lovely too and incredibly knowledgable. There does feel like there is a decent amount of space for each type of animal, and you might also get to see the odd dinosaur statue as well. I was lucky as my friend has a zoo pass so getting in was a little easier. The tiger enclosure was good and I really enjoyed seeing the giraffes. The penguin enclosure felt a little sad but I think it is because it is a bit dated or needs a good coat of paint, the penguins however were interesting.
