    March 2025

We stayed here for several nights in early March 2025. It was our first trip to Scotland, and we were looking for a place with some charm. My husband found this online. After some investigation, he declared this was where he wanted to stay. It was in a quiet neighborhood, across the street from a park, away from the noise of the city center, but not too far so that we could still easily call a cab to take us where we wanted to go within a few minutes. What was most surprising was that when we made our reservations, we found that it was actually part of the Best Western hotel chain! It's certainly several steps above most Best Western properties in the United States. The beds were very comfortable, and for an extra £12.50 per night you can get a full breakfast - you can opt for the generous buffet, and you can also order a hot meal made to order in addition to that. The front desk staff was always happy to call a cab for us (and that was our sole means of transportation throughout our stay, so we asked them to do so a great number of times). We never had to wait more than five minutes for one to arrive. We would definitely stay at this property again.

On the outskirts of Edinburgh outside the LEZ. Parking available for a fee (much less than on street parking). Friendly, helpful staff. Nice quality rooms. Dog friendly rooms available, dogs allowed in all areas of the hotel. Need to tell the hotel in advance about the dog. We had an evening meal and breakfast in the hotel. Nice food. Breakfast was excellent - continental buffet and menu order for cooked food. Full Scottish was excellent. View of Edinburgh castle from our room

we booked an executive room and we checked in online as 3 guests and when we arrived on the new year's afternoon, the guy working at the reception confirmed if we're 3 guests indeed and we said yes so they gave us 1 keycard. we got to the room and we were confused when we saw the room with only two beds. later on that day around 9 PM i asked the reception lady (and it was only her there) if we can have an extra key card and an extra bed, she told us that the room is only for 2 people and i reminded her of what her fellow receptionist confirmed with us earlier but she completely denied that (she was there as well with him) which we found very weird behavior as i'm very sure i heard him confirming 3 guests as well as my friends with me who heard the same thing. they should've been clear from the start instead of agreeing to something and denied it next which lead me to leaving at night to another hotel as i couldn't join my siblings in the room. other than that the hotel was really nice, the view was amazing and the street of the hotel had a lot of stores and restaurants with a walking distance. my siblings who stayed in the room liked it a lot though they were complaining of the bathroom sink, as it had a separate cold and hot water faucets instead of a balanced water faucet.
