November 2024I have stayed in the past and was very pleased to return. Very pleasant change from the chain hotels. My room was clean comfortable and quiet, bathroom clean and well appointed, and to top it off, the breakfast was excellent. No charge for parking and a beautiful setting by the river, even when the weather was -7° For the money it was excellent. Thank you

December 2024Fantastic location very quiet. We stayed one night as collecting an eBay purchase close by. We stayed in one of the “cottages’ not actually a cottage a room in another location. We were upstairs up a concrete set of stairs. With shared outer door with the next door room. The actual room was very comfortable with lovely bed very clean. Good bathroom with decent shower. We had a meal in the bar area as had dogs with us who weren’t allowed in the restaurant. The food was decent I’d say 8/10 not a generous portion. Quite expensive. A wake was going on so we had wait to order food as not enough staff. Bar staff friendly. The car park was large and dog walking area ideal. Probably lovely in the summer. So yes it’s a nice place but if we came again would stay in main hotel.

December 2024The room was clean and comfortable the peaceful river setting was lovely. However, the dining experience was disappointing. The food took too long over 45 minutes to arrive and was cold. Clearly not hitting about 70 degrees on the pass ..I can only imagine thier was only one chef in the kitchen the turkey roast dinner was particularly poor value as well as the other food.the desserts was the only thing we all enjoyed ..as for the breakfast basic, It's a shame that such a beautiful location is let down by the restaurant.

October 2024Whilst we were only here for a work do, the staff were very friendly and helpful all the time. Hats off to the barman that stayed till early hrs to keep serving till very late. Three course meal was excellent quality food, great choice of drinks too! Beautiful setting and would think it’s even better in the summer! Unfortunately I had an awful night sleep as the mattress was completely busted and was like a bag of springs, very noisy! The rooms definitely need to be updated as very tired indeed. Great shower though!
