We can cater to any budget and enjoy tailoring your day to your liking! Our prices do vary depending on the day of the week and month chosen.

December 2024The Christmas trees and decorations are beautiful this time of year at Makeney. We had a lovely warm room and our dog was welcome. Good customer service 👍

December 2024A comfortable stay, lovely lounge, just wish it had a log fire to complete the country home experience! Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was 5*, imaginative, delicious and well presented. Bedroom and bathroom were a bit old fashioned but clean, comfortable and warm on a very grey evening and morning. Very easy drive to central Derby.

December 2024Beautiful old building, very cosy and warm, lovely lounges to sit and relax, breakfast is serve yourself but delicious. The bedrooms are large and very comfortable whether your in the main building or across the car park. Parking isn't a problem large car park on a bit of a slope but accessible. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds so is you want a walk to work off your breakfast it's all on your doorstep. We were there for a wedding if you want to get married inside or out its perfect. Also perfect for exploring derbyshire.

September 2024We were kept awake by a dog howling in the next room from 10.30pm to 2.30am. We did complain and eventually the owner returned. The bathroom fan was fault. Overall the room was acceptable. No USB points for mobile charging in the bedroom. Our granddaughters wedding was handled professionally and the food/wine was of a good quality. The bar staff all seemed to be unhappy in their work, which reflects back on to the customers. Breakfast for the two mornings was very good and the staff extremely helpful. Perhaps the addition of a selection of fresh breads and cheese would make a welcome change. This is a third visit to the Makeney Hotel.
