Stayed at the hotel a few times for work over the last 6 months, the staff have always welcomed me, quick check in, carpark is great, close to the town centre 5 minutes walk. They are undergoing works, they apologised and could not do more for me. The room was really nice, clean and the bed extremely comfortable, I ate at the restaurant and had the pasta, very tasty and a large portion. Breakfast was nice, a very good selection. Overall excellent stay and looking forward to returning. Value for the money I paid.

I don’t usually leave reviews but I have to really commend the service here at the Stuart! Whilst the rooms leave a bit to be desired, for the price you’re not exactly expecting the ritz so it’s actually pretty decent. The food was lovely especially the breakfast! Staff really went above and beyond in accommodating my requests, Lauren I believe her name was, was absolutely lovely, really polite and helpful with the local knowledge I needed! Location was great for where I needed to be, and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again

stayed here while building work was going on at my home. breakfast was a good choice, hot and tasty and a reasonable price compared to other hotels. rooms were very clean and was a great price. evening meal had a good choice, tasted good and portions were a good size too. staff are friendly yet professional and the hotel is clean and tidy all in all a great little hotel for what i needed it for

A DISAPPOINTMENT. What could be a lovely little hotel is actually pretty dire. I had three nights here in July (weather was warm, but not boiling) and my first shock when I entered my room was how hot it was! Honestly I thought someone had left the radiator on as a joke - it was unbearable. I looked for the AC then realised there wasn't any. Panic set in, so I went to open the window only to find they can't be opened more than half an inch! Needless to say I had a very uncomfortable hot three days. My next gripe; I needed an iron to iron my work shirts. I asked the girl behind reception and she looked at me like I'd asked for a head on a plate. She said "she would try to get me one". When I returned from my meal out there was still no iron. I went back to reception and she was very put out that I dared ask again for an iron. She did manage to rustle one up but God only knows why it was such a big effort. The room was feeling tired and dirty. The bathroom was grotty and mould around the windows (see pictures) and the hand soap dispenser was empty. My final moan - there was no hot water, it was lukewarm. After my first shower I mentioned this to reception and the guy didn't seem concerned nor surprised. He offered me a room change which I declined as I CBA moving rooms (I'd already changed hotels once this week), but didn't offer to send someone to look into it. Overall a bad experience, made worse by the staff's nonchalant attitude. A positive however is the location! Close to the train station and Derbian Centre.
