August 2024Perfect stay in this highly dignified historic hotel. The staff team were the greatest delight and the friendly efficient interactions greatly enhanced the feeling of well being. Just a few strides from the station and a ten minute walk from the social heart of the beautiful city made my stay perfect, especially after being fuelled by the amazing breakfast. Can't wait to go back someday.

August 2024This is my second day in this hotel. The location is perfect, close to both train station and city centre. I like the room and I love the caring, so well-trained staff. Breakfast was varied, abundant and included fresh fruit. This is definitely the hotel I’d choose again when I next visit Chester.

July 2024Lovely hotel, very clean and modern while still keeping it's heritage in the building. Only problem we had was that we had ordered a bottle of prosecco for our room and took about 6 hrs to get it after asking for it 3 times. To be fair the IT systems were down for a bit so that may have been the problem. Overall an excellent stay and will be returning.

August 2024First impressions, awesome. Wonderfully set out with statues outside and historical info within. Nice clean rooms, good bedding and bathroom accessories. Large and airy with windows that opened adequately. Heavy curtains very good to mask bright light and street noises.. superb interior design and colour scheme when initially installed.. it is prudent that the management don't become complacent and watch that standards don't slip. They should be aware of areas becoming tatty and overlooked. Wear and tear to paintwork and furniture and flooring and littering beneath the trees in the rough undergrowth and attention should be on the ash trays provided being cleaned out regularly. It is a lovely hotel in a lovely position 😊 with lovely staff. Very kind to our coach party.

September 2024Visited for afternoon tea which was nice but service was a little lacking in that we weren't offered drinks top ups. Had a Groupon deal for this which is why maybe this happened. The usual afternoon tea is £40pp and you get a cake stand of goodies each as well as prosecco and unlimited hot drinks. I paid £22pp and we shared a cake stand and got one hot drink. Not much of a deal then.
