    We went there for a family wedding. The grounds are stunning and the venue is brilliant for a wedding. The waiters were very professional. The cottage we stayed in was clean, spacious and charming

    Well what can we say !!!!! An absolute stunning location, a perfect wedding venue, as we’ve just got married here. The staff were so warm, welcoming and helpful and service of extremely high standard. Our Wedding breakfast menu / evening food was tailored to us and was absolutely delicious. We would highly recommend this venue for anybody that is planning on getting married is this area.

    What a magnificent location for a loved ones special occasion. Despite its temporary look the event area is very well adorned with a good size bar, dance floor and loads of seating. The out door areas are equally impressive with wonderful views across the well manicured gardens.

    Didn't stay here but attended a wedding, lovely beautiful venue, great grounds and views, friendly staff too, nice evening with the pizza from the pizza oven. My biggest criticism is the cost of drinks, for a vodka coke and pint it came to about £19 they had a great singer for the photos but I think she was private, same with the band too. There were good options for all weathers for the ceremony and good use of the outside space.

    A sublime location with issues regarding service. Firstly, the wedding coordinator we received for our wedding was superb. They frantically ran about trying to act on our requests, which involved generally adult meals being given to children. We had 7 adult meals paid for, for people who were unable to attend at the last minute. Unfortunately, these were not redistributed to other members of the party - a sign of the costcutting measures that prevailed during our wedding. Furthermore, we found simple expectations such as the cake being cut up and tallied out not done, demanding some stern words from the Mother in law. For service, two stars is enough, saved only by the patience and hardworking of the wedding coordinator. Little issues make a big difference on a wedding day. Not allowing our own vendor at the venue was a poor start, and we found communication between ourselves and the venue extremely haphazard once the initial contract was signed. Combermere Abbey itself is the attraction. The rooms are majestic and well furnished, the site is immaculate and clean, with a view and location that is second to none. My wife chose well, but was led down by a team that clearly just saw us as another paycheck. I understand that. However, for those who delight in a service that truly wishes to make your day as magical as possible, look elsewhere. Come stay at the cottages if you wish to explore the countryside.
