We had a rocky start that turned into a rock star! Upon arriving at the hotel, we had to wait for our room to be ready..Turns out the room had a problem. The bathroom won't drain and the back sewer smell is horrendous. We decided to stop unpacking and seek an alternate room since this will be our home for the next 5 nights. The room exchange took a while but we were very happy with our new room. It had a great view, and everything was functional. Fast forward to the next few days, I started to get bold and wanted to experience surrounding areas such as Bath. I tried to book an appointment at the Thermae Spa in Bath, but their site was down, Grace from the front desk called them and helped secure a spot for the next day. Grace even showed me a very handy train app called train line. She called me a cab the next morning, estimated cab fares from the hotel to the train station. Recommended local spots, and was very helpful through and through. Her bestie Phoebe, handled housekeeping problems and room exchange issues like a pro. Amy, the head of housekeeper, made sure we had fresh towels and kept the room clean and ready for us everyday promptly. This is your home away from home! Thank you Grace, Phoebe, and Amy! And the amazing bartender!

Everything about this place deserves 5 stars. Starting with the best check in experience (thanks Laura!) through amazing people in the restaurant area and eventually the interiors and the breakfast. It is also located perfectly- quiet neighborhood yet close to good restaurants, pubs and the center. You truly saved our long weekend making it special even tho it didn’t really started well.THANK YOU!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this beautifully presented and maintained 186-year-old hotel. The view over the park was very appealing. I especially liked having the capitals (the tops) of the hotel's Corinthian columns outside my windows. These were also floodlit (from below) at night and looked superb. There was no light intrusion with the curtains closed. Good parking facilities.

We had a little anniversary vacation here recently and the room was lovely and spacious. The bed was very comfy and soft and the bathroom was wonderful. There are complimentary washes and creams in the room and plenty of towels and toiletries if you forget anything. The staff bought us a fan as it was quite warm recently. We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, both which were lovely and catered for allergies and intolerances, although limited on the dairy free breakfast options. Overall a peaceful stay in a beautiful location.
