Voco St David's Cardiff, Penarth Suite

One of two 5 star hotels in Cardiff, this place will make you feel right at home with their warm service and luxury feel. We've stayed so often for special occasions we're at the point of recognizing the staff. One of the special touches that keeps us coming back is we'd often have birthday cards/ Anniversary cards left in the room and on occasion a free drink to celebrate, so make sure to let them know if it's an occasion. We always stay on the fourth floor and have a beautiful view overlooking the Cardiff Barrage towards Penarth. The room is spacious and airy, with a king size bed, feather pillows and balcony. Plus everything else you'd expect from a hotel such as mini fridge, tea & coffee facilities and the toilet even comes with a bidet! The spa facilities are great too, with a lift for hotels guests that take you straight to the spa, there's a pool, jacuzzi & lounge pool, as well as a small sauna and gym facilities. These are all free to use for hotel guests so I'd suggest making the time to relax if you're stay here. The only customer feedback I'd like to give is, I think the bath/showers could do with a deeper clean to stop the buildup of limescale. House keepers work hard to meet deadlines so it would be worth looking into if they need more time and better equipment so they can go over the harder to clean areas.

I took my wife away for a few days as she is expecting our 1st child and the St Davids hotel was perfect for this. Staff were (mostly) attentive and accommodating as you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The facilities were amazing, room was fully stocked and comfortable. Breakfast was superb. The gym and spa facilities were good. The location is central and the views are amazing I requested (in person) at the front desk for the complementary turn down service for our room as we were leaving for dinner. The male staff member completely ignored me, and when asked why, was given no explanation. I was told The spa massage facilities were not available until the new year.
