February 2025I booked the accessible room for myself and my daughter. I use a electric wheelchair. The room was a good size for a wheelchair. We did have to move a small table and the chair so I could get in and out of the room and turn around with ease. The wetroom was a good size. I could move my wheelchair around. There were had rails, shower seat and a shower mat to put on the floor. The bed is not to high to transfer. There are lifts to all floors which are big enough for a wheelchair.

March 2025I think the bad reviews are genuinely people who have champagne taste and lemonade money. Staff 10/10 so accommodating and friendly. The rooms are super clean and a few new touches in there, yes the furniture is slightly off cosmetically however not broken or unsafe and from a distance not bad at all! We had a lovely nespresso machine and standard hot drink facilities with two bottles of water and even little touches like a shower cap. Location wise was perfect for us as close to the shopping centre and a short walk from the train station. Worth grabbing one of their pizzas too if you fancy a snack after a night out!

January 2025Really good hotel in the heart of Cardiff City, accessible and the staff were super friendly. The room was clean and tidy. The only thing that was not great. The smell of bleach when you enter the room it was quite strong and hurts the throat, we opened the window and it got better. Will definitely stay there again.

February 2025Smart hotel at the top of the town. 10 minute walk from the station and just off the St David's Shopping Centre. The one bed suite was very spacious. Comfy beds and pillows. Large lounge area with sofa and coffee area. Having a fridge would be useful. Bathroom was a bit dated and patched up but perfectly usable. All in all a pleasant stay.

February 2025Having booked an accessible room as I'm disabled, and having been there many times over the years, we were told our twin accessible room had been upgraded at no extra charge. I would like to know what the upgrade is. The room was very tired and tatty looking, the bed was extremely uncomfortable. Issues with toilet not working properly in first room. It wouldn't flush every time and constantly filling the cistern, but took such a long time before it could be flushed again, not good to hear all night and not being able to flush when needed. Bathroom sliding door way to heavy for myself as a disabled person. Plus in the first room we had the bottom of the sliding door wasn't fixed so the door kept flipping up when I was trying unsuccessfully to slide it. This is unacceptable in an accessible room. The sliding door was way to heavy so had to get my friend to slide it open and closed for me and she struggled too. Not enough plug sockets and no USB phone charge sockets. Both needed near the bed. Wet room shower unsuitable for disabled person in accessible room. The floor tiles need to be non slip, I slipped in the shower. Not enough handrails in the shower area. The amount of water that spread around the bathroom area was ridiculous and dangerous. The floor clearly isn't sloping enough to stop water spreading throughout the bathroom. Beds and bedding need replacing, mattresses are dreadful. Towel very poor quality. Only 1 very thin towel each for the weekend. We asked why we weren't given hand towels, apparently it's eco, not good enough. Please either inform your guests to bring their own towels or provide decent thickness towels and hand towels. No way to dry the wet towels either. Not impressed by that. We did ask for more towels but they were more tatty bath towels to dry our hair with and to put on the bathroom floor to soak up the water where the wet room floor doesn't drain. Very slippery in an accessible wet room. We went down to reception to complain, a list of complaints. The duty manager wouldn't come out to speak to us. The receptionist had to keep phoning him and she had to go into the office behind reception to speak to him. We asked to be moved to another accessible room with a wet room. The only other one had a bath, that's not an accessible bathroom. We had to manage for the first night and then we were moved the second day. That room wasn't ideal, but slightly better. Felt like we were begging for towels again. Only one lift in use for guests and housekeeping. Unacceptable that one of the housekeeping staff came pushed her way into the lift with trolley full of cleaning items and a mop bucket full of the filthiest water and another with a trolley full of dirty sheets and rubbish. The second lift needs to be opened again. Nobody working at the bar when we went to use it. It used to be a vibrant hotel in the heart of the city with wonderful, friendly, helpful staff and a duty manager who came out to help with any issues. Our short stay at a hotel that we've stayed at many times before was nothing like it used to be. Gone downhill massively. Tired looking hotel rooms. Not impressed. Expensive for the lack of everything. Accessible rooms totally unsuitable for us disabled people.
