The Ivy Cambridge Brasserie, The Boat Room
16 Trinity Street, Cambridge, CB2 1TB -
Up to
40 guests
Opened in March 2018, Ivy Cambridge Brasserie sits plumb in the city’s university heartland. The kitchen serves the chain’s signature British classics and, as at the Covent Garden original, Martin Brudnizki has been a guiding hand on design. His art-deco theatrics extend to the Boat Room, which accommodates groups at a single long table (removable for drinks receptions). On a polished, oak-tiled floor, it is surrounded by colourful vintage prints and artwork that reference local academic and riverine traditions.

January 2025We visited twice in 2024, but somehow didn't get around to write a review about it. It is a deceptively large restaurant once passed the small and unassuming entrance in the heart of Cambridge. The decor is warm and inviting, and the service was friendly and caring. The set lunches, which we had on both occasions, were amazingly good value, and the food was tasty, good portions, and beautiful presented. Highly recommended when visiting Cambridge

March 2025Lovely place for a special dinner or meeting friends. Good attention from staff and warm welcome. Food was delicious and attention given to detail. Crab & Avocado tian was beautiful as was the Black Cod - tasty, moist and a beautiful citrus pickled fennel accompaniment. Delicious!

February 2025Very welcoming and energetic service, attentive and cared about your experience. The atmosphere is formal yet casual at the same time, and it’s quiet. I ordered the English Breakfast which overall was great, however the toast was as hard as a rock and that was disappointing considering this is at The Ivy. Otherwise everything else was great! I would consider visiting again.

March 2025Nice Restaurant The restaurant was much bigger than I expected. Very fancy inside. The fish and chips tasted nice, in generous portions. A genuinely big fish fillet inside the batter. The shepherd's pie was surprisingly small. It was quite salty therefore I didn't use the provided gravy. You need to order a starter or dessert or both in case you insist to order their shepherd's pie. The staff were nice and attentive. Clean and tidy environment. I will return to try other items on the menu.
